- The Fake-Cree LED Awareness Thread - The new "low" in Budget lights.

I donā€™t think anyone disagrees with you that counterfeiting is still counterfeiting and that itā€™s completely wrong. I completely agree with you that a company like Lattice Bright purposefully making their LEDs to look like CREEs and then having them placed in Cree labeled flashlights is terrible. I just think that with the demand from the consumers for lower price points with similar quality, one canā€™t be surprised that someone would see that demand and try to meet it to gain a profit, with or without integrity. But yes, itā€™s still wrong.

re: ā€œā€¦Lattice Bright purposefully making their LEDs to look like CREEs and then having them placed in Cree labeled flashlights is terribleā€¦ā€
You make it sound as if LatticeBright funded those manufacturers and ā€œhaving them placed in Cree Labeled flashlight.ā€ I doubt that is the case. I am entirely confident that if a cheaper imitation came about, these manufacturer wouldnā€™t waste a minute switching away from LatticeBright and still sell their ā€œCreeā€ labeled lights.

I think the blame LatticeBright line of thinking is way off mark. But we are all entitled to our opinions.

Hi there. So this item here in tiny deal is interesting

http://m.tinydeal.com/en/product/CREE-XM-L-T6-1000LM-Pocketable-Mini-LED-Keychain-Flashlight-p-155933

She said she can offer me this for as low as 5$. But need to confirm if it uses cree xml.

Tinydeal was actually kind to send me an actual picture of the led

Like xpe/xFAKe, so do you think this is real xml?

Suck at pics again, hope you guys can help.thanks

Looks like one of the LB clones to me. Should be a decent fit for this lightā€¦ :zipper_mouth_face:

Is this a response to my pic or above me?

not bad price for even a TF Mini-01 clone if you can get them for 5 bucks. i canā€™t get the image they sent you to work to see it though.

Can you confirm the pic if its real cree xml? If i buy more, i can lower it further to 4$ + shipping.

Another pic sent by vendor

That is definitely a LB clone.

I ordered a Titanium Gray colored version on ebay for $ 4.54 USD that they lists to have a cree XP-E, (but iā€™m sure it will come with a LB clone.) i bought it to do a mod with it anyways so the LB led will be trashed regardless. Will know more once it arrives.

Hmmā€¦it seems Cree finaly releaced the new XML3 (straight U4 bin), can be found in Bangood Meco C8 flashlight

No wonder they announce it as 2k lumens and 4amps, but i think its underdriven

I am so happy that i ordered 3 pcs of that flashlight!

Mitko, i hope you are not serious on that. It makes me more confused

Here are some pics of a lattice bright XM-L2. Seller assured me before sale the touch had a genuine cree XM-L2. Main difference I see is they are missing the spot in the corner. Ignore the ring on the close it, its just the led reflection from the microscope.

At least they were kind enough to print their name on the board. That kind of helps with the whole ā€œThis is a counterfeit, not a Cree!ā€ argument.
