I, too, was disappointed by the gray switch cover.
I could not distinguish any light at all coming from the battery level indicator under the switch cover, even with the S70 turned on in the low mode and in a totally dark room.
I sent a PM to Thorfire asking whether they can send us replacement covers. No response yet.
This might be a silly question but how is the retaining ring fixed to the torch’s body? Is it a press fit that will need levering off or is it screwed in? Any info/tips would be appreciated.
Lets see here, “WE” design this great light and add a battery indicator to the switch and everybody reviews it and is happy. Then “WE” decide to add a gray cover so you can not see the battery indicator and say ” what could be bad about this”. I don’t know, maybe hundreds (thousands?) of unhappy customers. Sounds like a plan to me!
BUT, they don’t even mention it in their literature. Maybe you won’t notice. I’m sure, it was just a manufacturing decision (lets put the big T on there), which is cool, but the grey doesn’t cut it. I’d be willing to bet in the future, they will source it clear.
got my S70 yesterday from Amazon… it not only had the grey hard to see switch cap, but also stopped working after around 2 minutes of operation and can´t be switched on again … Happy? Not really…
