It's probably still hollow all the way through.  Small Sun isn't known for quality goods.

Yep, that's true.  But as long as it has at least some plate under the star it should be able to handle some heat.  There’s probably also room to fit some copper pipe down that center, possibly split and expanded to be a tight fit.   Its cheap enough to play around with as a mod host and the reflector is interesting at around 50mm.

Could this be a competitor to the UniqueFire HS-802 (R5)?

From the picture, the reflector seems to be pretty uneven, showing more jaggies than any SMO reflector I own. Not shure how much that might affect the beam quality, though.

Looking forward to a review...
