Thanks for the idea. Tried a extension from a $3 light. Not sure about extra runtime since it is much brighter. In any case it is a better bike light for me.
Hold the slider, unscrew the lens cap at the very front, use a tool to unscrew the pill (led holder). It comes apart.
Needle nose pliers with small front jaws, Round nose pliers from a Stained Glass shop (used for breaking glass), Big Tweezers, snap ring pliers, medium size scizzors....think of a way....it ain't rocket science.
You can even use small nails or bits of a paper clip in a Vice Grip.
Thanks Steve. Would you believe I had tried unscrewing the front lens cap and couldn't budge it. Then, used a rubber glove for a good grip and came right off. Cleaned it up a little...dust etc on glass.
I read one post that said apply silicone grease under the star for better heat transfer as there appeared to be none from factory. Any feedback on this? Is it necessary when running 14500's? Just checkin. :)
Just ordered 2 more. Great Price..couldn't help it.. lol great gifts as well.
If you want, you can get some heat sink glue, like they use on the CPU in computers. All of the China Dealers sell it.
I have used copper dust from a fine grinder and silcone oil I get at the lab at work, mixed.
Computer experts laugh at it...however, as far as I can tell, it is the same as the stuff they use....and free. Pure silver dust would be a few percent better.
LOL...Above posts refer to robbing the extension tube for use on the Sipik Clone since the threads apparently match. $3.86 US delivered to the door for an AA extension tube from the other side of the World would be a steal IMO... just throw the rest of the torch in the dupmster. LMAO..!
