I’ve hinted about doing a build, but never committed to making a thread…
As much as I’d love to be in the mix, this time around Real Life™ is taking precedence. Nothing bad is happening, quite the opposite actually.
I know there’s a bit of time left yet, & I have a pile of parts & even an idea(!), but I can’t see it getting done.
I’m watching all the builds when I get chance - there’s some great stuff going on this year

My light is now officially finished. Well it is if the wood doesn’t all fall off before the build time is up. :person_facepalming:

The build.
The light this year will be small using a C8 reflector and single battery. I’ve thought about building this light for well over two years and over this time the design, or lack of, in my head has changed several times.
It was OL’s idea of using timber in a torch and then RBD’s battery tubes made of…

T, t, t, t, tick, tick, tick, tick. I’m channeling Styx. Only two week ends left and I’m back to working full time. The good news is work is good therapy for the wrist but I’ll have to figure out what I can bring with me on the road if I’m going to be able to finish. It’s times like this I wish were rich and retired.

hi, appologies to everyone who expected to see new home made light, i really could’t find the time…
vesture is finally getting around to it.
If there was a prize for the person who farted around the most before getting started on this project it’d be to me for sure. That said, hopefully if I get up early enough tomorrow, don’t take any phone calls, and steer clear of the internet, I will be able to turn this hunk of brass into a flashlight in time.

I’m glad it doesn’t end until late in the day tomorrow. I’m still trying to make it in time! VOB, I don’t envy you entering here at the last, but your machine work looks excellent!
