Magnet Control CREE XM-L T6 Random Brightness 100-Meter Diving Flashlight

I must have this…

hope it is at least 2A on high

This is a lot like my D06, but smaller, lighter, knurled and probably floodier. Those are all improvements (for my purposes…probably not as good for actual divers) but unfortunately I doubt it has as much output (2.45A for the D06).

Interesting! How does it work? Twisting ring or does that button slide forward & backward? Does the whole head slide forward & backwards?

It sure would be good if communications weren’t so limited. We shouldn’t have to guess what a light that’s for sale does

Most dive lights with a magnetic control ring would be using Hall Effect sensors for on/off and output level changes so that there was no actual penetration of the body for water to leak into.

If it wasn’t a dive light mechanical switches are often used for on/off with the output levels controlled by an electric switch so there is no parasitic drain.

In this case the on/off must be magnetic as well. Buttons aren’t usually used on dive lights as water pressure would either keep them from coming on (reverse clicky) or from turning off (forward clicky) and they would leak at a certain point anyway. A magnetic button works however.

So, who knows what is the actual case with this light but the seller should be telling us

looks like the switch slides, like the xtar d06 and d10

Looks like the single 18650 version of this, but has a smaller head (44mm vs 48mm) .

1 x 18650

2 x 18650

Finally a diving light which is reasonably priced!!!

looks like the same light at MF for $23.52

description says HML but may be variable

The button slides back and forth. TC currents from 0.25 to 1.5A (about 7 levels) and parasitic drain of 0.07A. No other switch, but TC lockout helps.

Size is about C8ish, hotspot & flood exactly same as C8.

Double O-rings and square threads at the tail, single O-ring and normal threads between the body tube and head.

Build quality is very good, but switch requires some practice (skips easily some levels, unless slided very slowly).

I found w/ the d06, having just he right amount of lube on the switch is helpful. ie too much and is slides way too easy, to little and you can’t get a specific level because it won’t move then jumps when you finally push hard enough.
