Thanks

The flames are pretty decent. But the next step up is probably protected XTAR 18700 2600mAh batteries. These are available in a sticky in the good deals section. You send $13.50 to Serena via PayPal with all the details and she sends you a pair of batteries. They are Sanyo batteries and protected. You can pay $2 if you want registered mail. The only problem is these are a little wider than flames and don’t fit all flashlights (though they fit most).

Therer are a lot of batteries, which are better as the 2400mAh (I think, this are yours).
Now you have to think about the price, which you want to pay.
Here are some brands which are good, but expensive: AW, Redilast, Callie’s Kustoms

Take a look at the perfect review of HKJ - you will find also good batteries for a cheaper price.

Looking at that review I'm not really impressed by the XTAR batteries, compared to the TF3000. My choice for budget cells are HiMax.

I’ve always considered the TF flames to be the best bang for the buck in 18650’s. I bought over 100 of them last year and sold them to friends with a bike light.

I’m curious if there is even a 18650 in the 4 to 5 dollar range that is better than the TF Flames.

(54$+9$)/12cells = 5,25$/cell.

i forgot to mention, i need some for the Skyray King. How about the Panasonics are they good? If so, where is the most reliable source to purchase Originals?

Is DX still allegedly selling fake Flames? They used to be one of the best vendors for Flames. Is everything good now? I refunded my last order months ago cos of the rumours

@nick.w: http://www.cnqualitygoods.com has quite a good reputation around here. Or http://www.intl-outdoor.com tho I dont think I would use the large Panasonic cells, you would want something with a more steep discharge curve. Depends all on what you are willing to spend.

@alex21: Six months ago they sold fakes. I received genuine cells from MF but I wouldnt by TF anymore, knowing there are much better cells for not much more money. Its as usual, in the beginning you want to go cheap but soon realize it doesnt make sense.

i think i am going to get these

There are so many brands using good quality cells now, why would you risk your own safety using crap **fire cells?

You’ll find plenty of useful reviews right here on BLF for cells costing around the $10 to $12 range. If your looking to penny pinch on anything cheaper your kidding yourself, in the long run the better cells will save you grief and $$$’s.

Edit: looks like your on the right track, may be a bit expensive but local to you which outweighs the little extra cost.

Still I dont think these Panasonic cells are the best for such light as the King pulling 3A from each cell.

Select "Redilast 3100mAh" and "Redilast 2600mAh". The 3100mAh cell is the same as the one you found on ebay and you can see that the voltage drops earlier.

I would untick everything except for 3A and 5A because those are important for you.

Tailcap draw from several reads for King is around 7.5A, so that's only 7.5/4 = 1.8A /cell. That's a measly 0.6C for 2900mAh Panasonic.

Really? I thought someone measured the King with something about 3-4A per LED..

You can find one Sanyo 2600mha for less than 6$

http://www.buyincoins.com/details/new-sanyo-li-lion-3-7v-18650-18650-rechargeable-battery-2600mah-red-product-12516.html

or in ebay a pair of panasonic 3100mha for less than 18$ shipped, do not buy anything worse than that…

Where can I buy Redilast/Keeppower 2600mah’s for cheap? The best price I’ve seen was $14 each, and it seems like a rip-off to me since the normal unprotected Sanyo 2600mah cells can be bought for less than $6. Is there any other distributor offering a protected version of the Sanyo cell for less than $10?

Another question, is there still a place/source where we can buy genuine Trustfire 3000mah flames with the capacity as reviewed HKJ?

You cant get them cheap, thats the point. ;)

TF3000: Manafont. But I'd stick with HiMax or XTAR.

Here you go sir:

And the Keeppower 2600mah’s? Where do we get them?

I have not bought any of them… Yet…
