Solarforce's new batteries? S18650P (V3)

Just saw this, the S18650P (V3) batteries on their facebook page posted 5hrs ago. It looks they changed the plastic wrap on them. Hope it’s more durable than the old ones.

saw them also today…was wondering their capacity and quality…they remind me of AW cells

Almost look to be made by Keeppower, the wrap and label looks very similar to all the brands that are made by Keeppower.

I've read several times now that Keeppower is supposed to make a lot of batterys.. but which ones exactly? I mean, some Keeppower cells arent even available and yet they wrap them for others?

Because that is how they started. They originally were just an OEM, they would add protection and wrap cells for customers. They have just started selling they’re own branded cells now. Trying to think of an example I came up with the recent Pontiac GTO. It wasn’t a Pontiac, it was a Holden Monaro, just “rewrapped” as a Pontiac. It would then be like Holden starting to sell the Monaro in the US ( which I wish they would do.)

I guess the most important question is…

What’s the make & model of the battery inside and how good of quality is the protection circuit? Panasonic, Sanyo…???

There are 5 vent holes, not 6, so it’s probably not Sanyo UR18650FM (which is used in most 2600mAh batteries)

Or they put a new button on them.

I hope HKJ has reserved his sample already. :P

at solarforce sales

$7.5 for 1 and $14.50 for 2. Seems like a promo deal. Now who’s going to buy one, crack one open and reveil the goods?

Not yet, I have just receive some other batteries and also bought a couple of batteries to test. If Solarforce or their dealers want to send some batteries to me, they will be tested before the ones I have bought.

I might buy them myself later on, but it will be at least two months before I can publish a test in that case.

I hope solarforce is reading this :stuck_out_tongue:
Would be great if they’d publish the length of these cells… For those picky flashlights

I believe they use the same ‘BAK’ brand cell as the new Fenix ARB 18650s use.
