Identify these 18650

I tried searching all over the web but can’t find any info on these at all.
They are salvaged from a 36V Hitachi power tool and the capacity of the cells should be 1300mAh.
Since the low capacity I was thinking maybe they are some kind of IMR cell?
The only markings I can find is KLKA18 074201

I think i have a match. I pulled the same ones from an IBM laptop, maybe 5-6 years old.
I think they maybe be Samsung. i guess before they even entered the high end electronics business
i think they were making PC components and building shipping infrastructure back then…
I keep them but i dont use them…

hmm I was thinking it was Sanyo cells, they have the same type of red wrapping as the more common 2600mAh cell.
They could very well be 5-6 years old though.

I pulled six of those out of my 6 year old Toshiba laptop if that helps. I was thinking Sanyo as well but not sure. Mine has a green ring around the top positive end.

Those look almost identical to the Sanyo 2600s I have found in a lot of packs.

These are Sanyo 2600mAH cells. very common in most laptop packs. Most toshiba laptops, early HP, Acer laptops has sanyo cells

In my personal experience, these cells have very low self discharge rate. but huge capacity loss with againg. I have 6 pcs and they all under 1200mAH

I think they are the high power Sanyo UR18650S or similar because they are from a drill battery. They are not Sanyo 2600 mah are light blue with a circular positive where as these are a hexagon.

like

No they’re not 2600mAh cells.

That’s either UR18650SA, or UR18650SAX. Both are rated min. 1250mAh (nominal 1300mAh), and they support high current discharge.

Thanks for the input.
I was thinking it should be some kind of UR18650S but the markings made me unsure.

A lot of power tool cells are LiFePO4 and not LiCo. The 18650 LiFePO4 cells usually have 1100-1300 mAh (very few legitimate LiCo cells are so low in capacity).

Recently DeWalt switched from A123 26650 2300 mAh LiFePO4 cells in their tool packs to Samsung 1100 mAh 18650 cells.

I think they are sanyo lmr the hex top is the give away ,, the lithium cobalt or what people are calling a regular lithium ion out of laptops have a different shaped tab ...the color of the ring is an identifier as to what they really are and the ones from my hitachi drill pack have very faint info on the side of the cell.....I was curious as well as to what mine were exactly and then decided i really didn't care since they were " one smokin great battery "..Mine are a deep royal blue ring and I think I looked them up and found they were 1600 or 1800 mah ..Lmr being lower than l-ion anyway ..I've seen almost 5 amps on a few lights.. they are some of my favorites
