Roche F22 vs JMO7 Upgrade (side switch)

Hello all,

I’d like to get a full sized 2X26650 single XM-L and am drawn to the following models: F22 and JM07 Upgrade.

To anyone with both lights, what are the comparisons to be made and what are each models strengths/weakneses.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi Cullen,

you’d be hard-pressed I think to find anyone that has both as they are fairly recent lights.

The reason I got the JM07 is it has a fantastic beam profile for cycling. Now that I have it in hand, I can also say fit and finish and comfort in hand would be hard to beat, real gem of a light. The F22 also looks like it has a great fit and finish, with a C8 like head and SMO reflector it should throw better but with less flood, and driven at 3A compared with 2.5A it would be a little brighter, albeit less run-time. You wouldn’t go wrong with either, you could contact the seller and get his opinion. Hank from IO or Ric from CNQG.

I just read your review WKJR. Thanks for the contribution!

I am looking for a floodier light as this will be an indoor/neighborhood light. I’ll get either in CW. Which would have the floodier beam? I am concerned about the UI on the JR, as it seems the end cap is still on off? or can i cycle to off through side clicky?

Also, may just come down to the one looks better to my eye.

The JM07 would be floodier as it has a smaller OP head/reflector. The tailcap is a forward clicky which I didn’t mention in the review and only comes on in high mode, no mode cycling. The side clicky cycles modes only. Personally I like the UI, forward clicky for intermittent use and side clicky for extended use and mode changing. It may bother some that it comes on in high mode only though.
