November is national modding month... it's that time again

It's time to make those good lights great .

Break out the lantern or bike light project and lets see a fine display of creativity ..

Do you have drivers and emitters ordered ? Fujick, gold springs, optics or reflectors ?

get ready.... Novembers almost here

there may be prizes/or not

Mod on...

Updated for 2020 .. time to get bold and break out that soldering iron .

Modding month returns

I have stuff on order and a box of parts calling my name.

Every month I mean to complete the projects that ive started, just need more time!!!

Maybe I should aim just to complete one… Just waiting for parts

Woody

Too many projects on my list; King driver, RGBW driver, Quad-LED driver, UF-H1, UF-T50, another custom firmware, a little secret flashlight project,…

Am I cheating if I've already started?

If you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough! -L.Armstrong :P

If I was a betting man I would bet that you are cheating 12 months of the year (except when you buy a light your not going to modify, the shock of it).

Well, it's looking like I will have a triple XM-L P60 put together by the end of November. :D

Now how did I know I’d find you at the end of this thread. I just received 50 - 0805 smd LEDs for the battery guage pcb. When that is done it will be time to rock.

Wow, that’s going to be a really bright P60.

Looking forward to some parts as well.

FT 66 V2 flood to throw.
Waiting for some parts.

No modding in Movember without a moustache.

No it's november somewhere on the planet ..you just might have to circle the globe 4 or 5 times to find it ..

You don't even have to wait on parts ...head towards the toaster oven or Mod a light like I did with a steak knife ...

1D Mag Mule (Red)

1D Tail switch style Mag (Red, or Blue, or Black)

2AA Nichia Maglites

Solitaire Nichia Maglites

Something else I'm still waiting parts on, almost forgot what it is, LOL.

It's that time of year again.

Happy mod month !!!!

and now some poetry.......

From Jack the clipper:

Oh ! How I wish I could mod
Of the skills I've seen here I am awed
I could take any light
And make it just right
By adjusting the parts that are flawed

Oh ! How I wish I could mod
If I did I would look like a fraud
I'm afraid if I try
Some components I'd fry
And my work would be very slipshod

Oh ! How I wish I could mod
And possessed skills that all could applaud
But my lights must stay stock
Just a guy on the block
Some can run fast while I merely plod

Man , I sure wish I could mod ...

A couple years later even dear jack can mod .. sure why not !!!

it's time to get busy modding your lights

First time modders , hardcore or tweeners ..time to break out the soldering iron and burn em up

Once some part i have ordered arrive i should have updates in my SRK Super Thrower project by November. :stuck_out_tongue:

Soms xml2 u2 on order and a 7135*8 (3.04A) driver… Let the modding begin!

Yup, this year I've got something, too. :D

Hardest part for me is figuring out what lights deserve a second chance,a driver or an updated emitter .

When modding mainly for tint , I think the tendancy is to want to fix the funky ugliest tints...Question becomes ...Is the whole light a mess and not even worth the effort .? Sure "We can make him stronger ,run faster jump higher ..But should we bother ? I'm starting to look much harder at the host ,weight ,balance ,threads ,knurling ,anodization and overall feel.

Thanks to texaspro I can mod some dumb lights just for effect with some super cheap Nichias.

I keep thinking ....maybe a Nichia array !!!!

Hmmmm… mod-month eh??

I’ll try & knock something together
