If I was a betting man I would bet that you are cheating 12 months of the year (except when you buy a light your not going to modify, the shock of it).
Now how did I know I’d find you at the end of this thread. I just received 50 - 0805 smd LEDs for the battery guage pcb. When that is done it will be time to rock.
Oh ! How I wish I could mod
Of the skills I've seen here I am awed
I could take any light
And make it just right
By adjusting the parts that are flawed
Oh ! How I wish I could mod
If I did I would look like a fraud
I'm afraid if I try
Some components I'd fry
And my work would be very slipshod
Oh ! How I wish I could mod
And possessed skills that all could applaud
But my lights must stay stock
Just a guy on the block
Some can run fast while I merely plod
Man , I sure wish I could mod ...
A couple years later even dear jack can mod .. sure why not !!!
it's time to get busy modding your lights
First time modders , hardcore or tweeners ..time to break out the soldering iron and burn em up
Hardest part for me is figuring out what lights deserve a second chance,a driver or an updated emitter .
When modding mainly for tint , I think the tendancy is to want to fix the funky ugliest tints...Question becomes ...Is the whole light a mess and not even worth the effort .? Sure "We can make him stronger ,run faster jump higher ..But should we bother ? I'm starting to look much harder at the host ,weight ,balance ,threads ,knurling ,anodization and overall feel.
Thanks to texaspro I can mod some dumb lights just for effect with some super cheap Nichias.
