L3 Illumination L10 question * gap between head and body *

Just received my light, perceivable quality is very good!

The 0.3 / 3 / 100 lumen spacing is excellent, covers most of my needs

There is one question, possibly issue, that I'd like to ask anyone who's also got this light:

- when I load my Duraloop in the light the head and the body do not fully screw together, there is about a 1 mm gap in between the two. There is a high positioned o-ring that should prevent water getting inside and if that is so I don't mind but I'd like to hear from ya'll - is this how it's supposed to be?

(checked with alkaline, same thing, so it's not battery specific)

OK I have since found this

not the same makes but obviously same construction and it seems like this is normal

have been using the light all evening, still digging it :)

I have a few of the L10’s with the Nichia 219 LED. There seems to be a slight variability in the width of the gap when I try different lights with the same cell. One of mine seems to do up almost completely (stuck a 1mm thick magnet to the bottom of the eneloop as its difficult to undo one handed).

It’s normal for the brass to show when a battery is inserted. It also makes the light look classy.
If it tightens right down, over the brass, like when no cell is in place, you are using an unusually short battery.

Yep, mine all have the gap. I look at it this way, if its tight I’m probably crushing the shiznit out of that rubber gasket

Review somewhere? Regulation? PWM?

Mini review

Regulation? Maybe, I don't know.

PWM? There is none.

Mine has the same gap. At first I thought that it was a defect since I compared it to the images available online, but then I realized that it was just the battery. Hopefully this gap doesn’t have a negative impact on the water resistance…

I have also a few of the L10’s with the Nichia 219 LED. They really work nicely.
