well I have a XM-L2, U2, 1C & 25mm XM-L MCPCB on the way from illuminationsupply. Will be my 1st time modding so I’m pretty stoked!

Looking again at the specs, 5k color at 1045-1120 lumens @ 3A 25°C sounds fantastic for a neutral tint. I may stick one of these in an olight m20 warrior w smo reflector mod.

FYI - Mouser should have XM-L2 T6 5000k E3 (3A-3D range) around the first of February

and XM-L2 U2 5700k E2 (2A-2D range) around the first of March.

It should be between 15 and 20% better: an XML (in U2 bin) can do 1000 lumen at 25°C and 10 watts while the XML-2 does just shy of 1200 lumen at the same temperature (and power). When the LEDs get hot (~80°C) the XM-L2 should still be putting out as much light as the XML does at 25°C (1000 lumen). Of course it will appear less then 10% brighter to the human eye so the real benefit comes from extra run-time by running at 8W instead of 10.

I have a couple of projects that will quite like that little boost.

I may even put off getting an mt-g2 for my edc+ host, when it eventually arrives if I like this enough. We’ll see. :bigsmile:

I actually spoke with Malkoff the other day about their Mag XM-L upgrade. And they’re apparently starting to make that available with the XM-L2.

I asked Hank when he is getting more of these in stock but he didin’t know, he only got this small batch from his supplier. I was too slow, would have put a t6 in my 7g5v2. I guess these will show up somewhere else eventually.

Nice. I’ve always wanted to give the 2A/2D range a go. 5500k to 5700k is supposedly high noon sunlight.

I hope some don't think it's only 2A and 2D, E2 means any of 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D.

A couple of "2" tins have been sold at IOS, I got a couple. Don't get the impression they will more warm, I would say they are quite the best cool white, but still cool white.

Even these “neutrals” are going to be fairly cool, I would think, at only 3A to 3D. I don’t think it’s really all that neutral until you get to 4 or 5. My status went to “shipped” yesterday, so it should be on the way with a couple of 8×7135 3.04A drivers.
