Does anyone have cycle life test results for some of the newer high-capacity 18650s (Sanyo, Panasonic, LG, Samsung)? I’m interested to see the optimum upper cut-off voltage to reach about 1,000 cycle life. I would guess it would be around 4.1V or 4.15V?
If you limit the charge to around 85% and discharge to 20% of the rated values you can extend the life of the cells by an order of magnitude. That is how the electric car makers get usable life out of li-ion packs.
