Sipik SK68 erratic response

My SK68 light has become whimsical. When switch is pressed, the light sometimes come on, sometimes not, and dims or fizzles out.
Is the problem with the tailcap switch or something else?
I noticed that if I screw in the cap with the switch depressed and the light on, I got a better chance of it working. Battery is newly charged.
Can the Fasttech SKU 1159100 (1A/DC 30v) tailcap switch replacement work on the Sipik SK68?
Appreciate your advice.

First check is if you can get the light to come on reliably without the tailcap making a direct connection. If you have nothing else a paperclip will work. If that works you narrow it down to the tailcap. If it is the tailcap I’d investigate to see if the switch assembly is loose inside the tailcap. I don’t have a Sipik but it’s a common issue. The switch needs a good contact between the cell and with the tailcap body to carry current to the light body.

Ah had same problem before, I checked if it was a contact issue and it was not the problem for me. I somewhat fixed the problem by getting it to turn on (on high) leaving it on the table not touching it all. With a fully charged battery it was on for a long time and got very hot. After that it seems to work fine now. It still varies brightness every once in a while, but only a tiny amount and not very noticeable. I’m pretty sure it’s a driver issue. Maybe I got lucky IDK

Thanks Baterija and Pytech for your inputs. I tried the paperclip thing, and the light came on. Could probably be a switch issue. Now the light is unpredictable. Sometimes high, quickly go to low and suddenly nothing.
When I bought this light from Manafont, it didn’t work at all. After some struggling and battery insertion attempts, it finally work. I hardly use the torch.
I will try the “leave it on high” way and see how.
