Come in and name the shortest AA or 14500 flashlights!

I am compiling a list of shortest AA or 14500 lights and I thought it would be good to involve all of you and generate some discussions.

The shortest one I have found is no doubt the DQG AA, this is closely followed by Maratac AA at 2.99 inch, which rounds to about 76mm. Foursevens Mini Ma is about 76.2mm. And finally the favourites Zebralight SC52, L3 Illumination L10, and EagleTac D25A Mini… And then the lengths are very close with some coming in at 81mm.

The first dimension is the length, followed by diameter (took the largest if head and body diameters are different).

  1. DQG AA, 72mm, 17.5mm
  2. Maratac AA, 76mm, 17.8mm
  3. Quark Mini AA (Mini MA), 76.2mm, 17.8mm
  4. Zebralight SC52, 78.2mm, 23.6mm
  5. L3 Illumination L10, 79mm, 17.1mm
  6. EagleTac D25A Mini, 80mm, 17.5mm
  7. Fenix LD15, 80mm, 16.6mm
  8. Zebralight SC51, 80mm, 22mm

Nice list! Could you include their diameters too?

Ok would do so soon. Busy now

This thread is interesting. I did not realize the DQG was so short.

I have a ThruNite Saber 1A coming in the mail that the spec’s list at only 81mm.

Yep. I also have a Saber 1A and it measures 81mm without the battery.

Anymore?

measurement thread needs more measurements….

from linked page:
“Head diameter 19mm, Tail diameter 19mm, length 84mm

Weight: 40g (without battery)”

81.2 mm x 17.6 mm
20.5 g

Include weight. Most of these are shorter than AAA lights

Armytek Partner A1 XM-L

68mm x 24mm and that's WITH a reverse tail clickie and 2 modes (260lm & 85lm)

2.01 oz without battery.

I think T-10 thrunite and eagletac D25A are too small and feel a little odd to use ..A 14500 gets a light hot enough to need real heatsinking too. Size on a AA light never mattered to me since they are all to big to be keychain lights. ..I can get any AA light in my pocket and actually prefer a bit bigger AA light ..A little larger light also feels better in my hand. 90MMx20MM<- Nitecore D-10
