1000 post giveaway. Modding parts (Closed- Winners announced!)

UPDATE:
Winners are Relic38 and Nightbird95!

_

Relic38 is just a very generous and helpful guy. Highly appreciated to have him in this community. I though he deserved to get some stuff. Its not that much though…
He will get the smaller package. 20g total weight.
I threw in an extra (not announced) bare XM-L U2, on top of 3 bare XM-Ls. 1 XR-E. Dual XP-G mcpcb. Two O-rings, Two tail caps.
FT 2 mode driver, East 092 with decent output but next mode memory and the driver crcuit from the Uniquefire UF-X6S.
Im sure he can “remove” the next mode memory function and give life to them.
I also know he is familiar with the V10+ driver, have lots of resistors and various stuff so Nightbird95 will probably enjoy all the other things more. He will get a lot of items! Ill try to get it all in a 50g envelope.

I know I said one international winner, and one from EU. But Nightbird95 convinced me with his post that he was a worthy winner.

Congratulations to both of them!

WOW… 1000 posts… Most of which have been posted in 2013. I have never been so active on a forum before! What a year, so far. I have been turned into a flashoholic nutter like a bunch of all the other crazy people here! Its been a fun journey! You guys are great!
2012 was a calm year. I bought 2 lights… In 2013, I got my eyes opened and saw the potential many lights had. I started to mod stuff. Its been a crazy journey, with a ton of packages coming my way.

I have tested a lot of parts, drivers, emitters etc etc… Some I liked, some, not so. I have been “saving up” a bit for this giveaway. For me, its not that much value in these parts, but Im sure someone can find value in a few of the items. Some of the drivers and emitters are just crap though.

Here are the parts in the giveaway (More have been added since picture was taken)

Drivers:

  • V10+ 4A with ramping
Bought from IOS when they had them in stock, link to FT, this is more like a, up towards 3A driver, but it can be 3,5 with a good fresh battery before voltage sinks. It can be fun to play with.
    Its potted with fujick.

- FT 2-mode
(Around 3 amp output on high if a fresh cell is used. Next mode memory)

- East 092 drivers from FT
This was more like 1,8A on high? Strobe and SOS is DD. Starts on high every time.

- East 092 drivers from FT
Close to 3 amps on high I think, with a good new charged cell. Next mode memory. Not sold as the East092. Not even sure if its the exact item that I link too.

-Driver circuit from Uniquiefire UV-6S

Various “junk” drivers:

  • Driver from my NEW 612

- Driver from a C8 (with XR-E)

- 2x Hollow pills from different 3AA light with a crappy driver and a crappy led.

CW emitters:
3 bare XM-L
3 XM-Ls, one of which are de-domed in gasoline (currently sitting on 25mm mcpcbs)
3x XR-E on 16mm mcpcb
1x XR-E on 20mm star
1 XP-E on 16mm star
1x XM-L T6 (slightly damaged, nice for test bench)
1 XP-G (accidentally dedomed, I can not guarantee how good it is.)

Various
10x 0,12R resistors
10x 0.5R SMD resistors
10x 0,9R resistors

One 10 degree TIR-optic (Im pretty sure its 10 degree)

26,8mm glas lens

DC-FIX diffuser film (broadens beam on flashlights)

5x 21mm O-rings (I think that is the outer size)

A close to 17mm contact board

A 20mm contact board

A 20mm dual XP-G mcpcb.

Two blue tailcaps

Two black tailcaps

HOW TO WIN?
Im not sure how I will pick the winner.
But tell me why you deserve to win, or tell me what you would use one or several parts for.

I deserve to win because i will share the bounty with another respected member, increasing their usefulness

Foy is just now considering learning to solder so, count me out since I'd rather it go to someone who will create something awesome.

Just wanted to say how great it's been having you here.

Choose somebody that can properly handle an iron. That wouldn't be Foy. (yet)

fluxcapacitorFoy

What I don’t use I can give to someone else.
Thanks RaceR86!
Hmm. I’m coming up on 2000 posts rather fast… getting about that time to start a giveaway again.

I don’t deserve to win I just would like to win and promise that if I do win I will find something to do with everything you care to send me. I like nothing more than turning on my soldering iron and spending a few hours of frustration relieving while cussing at various schemes of mine until the finally produce light.

Wow, for one person to win ALL of that is crazy! If I were to win, I would probably use the xre’s first in direct drive in my sipik sk68. Also that ramping driver looks sweeeeeeet. I’ve also been thinking about building a flashlight for a friend’s birthday coming this summer with custom modes, but a ramping driver would be nice too.

I’ve got a couple spare emitters and some copper sinkpads . . they need parts (mostly drivers) to make them into something . .

If I actually win, I’ll build up something and use it for my next giveaway!.

mod part the best gift,i would like to mod some cheap flashlights with those,i am in,thanks for the giveaway.

Good on you to do a giveaway!

But I can barely solder two wires together so count me out. lol

Count me in ! im really getting into Modding lights since the start of this year.

I’d like to win, coz i dislike next mode memory drivers :frowning: and got some lights that might need modding  want to change all my lights to no memory mod  so they all start on high or w/e.

Count me in!

Thanks!

Thanks for the giveaway, and for the great contributions to the forum the past year! Count me out, I have too many spare parts already 0:)

I'm in ...

I promise to use a few pieces, play with a few and leave the rest in a drawer forever .

Many of my flashlights have drop-ins - I can use most of the products you offer. I bought two C8 from Aurabuy to modify these and maybe I can use some parts of thgis give away.

In my neighborhood are some young boys (age 09-11) with some cheap flashlights (with generic LEDs). I would take the chance to modified 2-3 of their flashlights, too.

ooh good stuff, count me in. thx

i like having parts at home, so when i’m in the mood for modding i can do it right away instead of waiting a month for parts to arrive…
so maybe i could use some of the parts to mod my old army headlamp i bought at a thrift store last year. i’d also like to mod some other old school flashlights, maybe those parts could be of usefulness then

If I win, then I’ll probably whip something up from it and show it to the forum.

I think it is a great idea! I don’t think I will enter since I haven’t started modding yet. I would look at all those parts and not know where to start!

I also think a great giveaway would be a host with all the parts necessary to make a complete light…perhaps with step-by-step instructions. Contestants would include only those that have yet to start modding. Hmmm…that gives me an idea for a future giveaway.

Anyway, thanks for the giveaway and I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
