WE HAVE TWO WINNERS of the battery giveaway!

The two winners are (drum roll please) ………

Numbers 50 and 27 as chosen by random.org (second drum roll please) ……

Top Cat and Triple A.

Hooray!

If these two members will PM me their snail-mail addresses, I’ll get the batteries right out to them, and not a moment too soon. I just found yet ANOTHER laptop pack at home depot today. At this rate, there will be another giveaway soon, so stay tuned.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to sign up. I wish I had enough to give some to everyone …. Hmm in another 6 months I just might

Thanks again!!

Here are TWO chances to win 15 (WOW—15!!!) 18650 batteries for absolutely FREE. That’s for NOTHING, as in no cash outlay. WOW!!!

(If you want to pay for the $5.15 priority-mail postage that would be great but not required.)

Here is a photo of the 30 cells up for grabs here.

Simply say “I’m in” (or something similar) in a comment in this thread and you’re good to go. You must have been a BLF member on or before 5-15-13. If I forgot some important rule, I reserve the right to add it later.

There will be two winners for 15 batteries each. Winners will be drawn on Friday May 31 through random.org. (I MAY extend the deadline if BLF is down for a really long time or because of other unforeseen circumstances.)

At contest’s close, I will PM the winners for mailing addresses, etc. I will also announce the winners in this thread.

Batteries will be shipped via priority mail via small flat-rate box. Sorry no international entrants. Apologies to the many fine BLF members not of the U.S., but postal rules prohibit shipping li-ion batteries outside the U.S.

Always wanted pack pulls but never got around to cracking a pack? This is your lucky day. All these batteries are unprotected pack pulls, and ALL work fine. I am being buried alive and it’s time to thin the herd. (There are also a couple Ultrafires thrown in to keep the good batteries company.)

All giveaway batteries have been tested multiple times and cycled multiple times — with the date and voltages written on the battery. But if you don’t like my anal record keeping, you can wipe the date off with an alcohol-dampened cloth. All batteries are covered in transparent shrink tube on top of the original label. All batteries hold a charge for at least a month. Some – as you can see by reading the dates – have held a 4.20 charge for 60 – 90 days!

Yes, there are 2200 and 2000 cells in these lots, but these have worked fine in just about any light I threw at ’em. In fact, the Panasonic 2000s are KILLER batteries that will outperform any *fire it meets in a dark alley. In fact, just about any of these batteries will outperform a TF flame.

Some have a blob of solder applied to imitate a button top battery for use in lights that don’t have springs.

Batteries types subject to change without notice, but the two 15-battery GIVEAWAY packs should include:

First giveaway ——
2 Sanyo 2600mah
2 Sony high-demand 1500mah
1 Panasonic 2250
2 Samsung gray 2400s
1 LG 2200 blue
1 LG 2200 tan
2 ICR 2000mah
2 NEW Sanyo INR18650-15Q
LAST MINUTE ADDITION — 2 much-maligned Ultrafire 3000mah red-silver-black “batteries.” These hold a charge fine but are included as curiosities only. I have NO idea whether they are capable of producing anything close to 3000mah.

Second giveaway ——
1 Sanyo 2600mah
2 Sony high-demand 1500mah
1 Panasonic 2250
2 Samsung gray 2400s
1 LG 2200 blue
2 LG 2200 tan
1 ICR 2000mah
1 Panasonic 2000mah
2 NEW Sanyo INR18650-15Q
LAST MINUTE ADDITION — 2 much-maligned Ultrafire 3000mah red-silver-black “batteries.” These hold a charge fine but are included as curiosities only. I have NO idea whether they are capable of producing anything close to 3000mah.

If you are new to the li-ion game and don’t know about their care, perhaps this giveaway is not for you. If you don’t have a DMM (or know what one is) or have never used an unprotected battery before, maybe these are not for you. Unprotected batteries – although completely safe if used properly – require some maintenance and checking. For example, never let the voltage drop below about 2.5 volts and don’t use them in multi-cell lights, unless you really are aware of the risks. I am NOT responsible if you blow yourself up.

I do not have a hobby charger, so I don’t know what the estimated capacity is on these, but all seem to have a great runtime when I used them. I am HUGELY quick when applying the solder to the battery tops. The positive tabs barely even got warm.

Thanks for reading this, and good luck if you decide to enter!!!

Count me out as im buried in pack-cells too!
