positive terminal of NCR18650B pushed in

I noticed that one of my 18650B unprotected flattop which I bought 5/2013 has the positive terminal pushed in (nice concave indentation btw). Not sure which light did it but it was probably my Convoy S2 or Convoy C8. The battery still functions fine but can only be charged on my Miller 102 because the contact is now below the top of the battery.

Basically I was wondering if this was common or not. None of my other 18650Bs show any signs of indentation, so perhaps it’s poor quality control?

Thanks

Normally it's just a punched and stamped bit of sheet metal welded on to the top.

High load is simply not an effective design priority.

You can solve the charger problem with a large blob of solder on the terminal
