Recommend Intellicharger i4 12V setup

Have been reading and researching usb car adapters, usb wall adapters (120V), and usb to 12V round plug cable adapters for my Intellicharger i4. Looking to replace the stock AC plug. Would like the ability to use this charger in the car, and at home in the wall using one cable.

Can someone recommend components that would make this happen safely and at the same charge rates supplied by the stock AC cable?

EDIT (10.23) - usb not an option.

Thanks.

A bit more info…

In the process of building a case for a few lights, cells, and a charger for travel. Have not cut foam yet because of the charger. Would buy another travel friendly charger (maybe power bank USB) to include in this kit. Hoping to find the right components for the i4 w/o buying something else.

USB 5v —> 12v isn’t going to work well, if at all. If you are powering it from a cigarette lighter, all you need is a universal cigarette lighter adapter (no conversion) because it is already at 12v. This will be the most efficient and the charger will be able to deliver the maximum amount of current. Stick with the AC cord for charging at home.

If you want to charge using USB only, then there are a few options. You can buy a power bank for around $10 that will do what you want (and also provide USB 5v output) link . You can buy one of Cottonpicker’s USB chargers link , or you can build your own using something like this: link

Be aware that these USB chargers will be slower than your i4 (with multiple cells) and will not be able to as easily charge cells with different charges simultaneously (i.e. throw in one cell at 3.6v, another at 3v, etc.) I have an i4 and it is my favorite charger, although I do have a few others.

Thank you RMM, I appreciate the response. All usb outputs are at 5V regardless of AC or DC input answers my question.

Looks like a dedicated 12V cigarette adapter or new power bank that will charge at usb voltage.
