that is a nice test Hank! It indicates how well the direct bond to copper of the thermal pad actually performs. I am sure that a gap filled with solder does have some influence on those temperatures, but doubt that the influence will be more than 1 or a few degC.

Still, for the hardcore snobs, even if you proof that the difference is negligible, no gap will always be more desirable than a gap Tongue Out

It’s a very sexy design. Will there be a solder paste stencil or .brd file available for getting them made and what do you use for jumpers?

I would definitely be in for a few of the quads once those are ready.

I see the LEDs goes on differently for serial vs parallel. Might put S+, P- and S-, P+ on those pads in the silkscreen.

I asked Hank at CNQG about stencils and he said they won’t be selling any. I have a query in now about releasing the file so we can have them made at Oshstencil but whoever is more proactive on this will certainly have a leg up on the competition.

Nice job Dsche! and thanx Hank for those test results. What is the thickness of the boards? That picture you have seemed to clip off the reading. I'd love to see these at 2 - 2.5 mm thick.

Noctigon triple doesn't have screw holes either.

It doesn't have a hole for wires to pass through the center.  That may be a deal breaker in smaller lights.  The  4XP version does though.

The low mode should be lower.

But center hole can be used for exactly that purpose, I plan to use it like that!

Hi guys!

Sorry for delay (I’ve already said it? Heh. Sorry anyway)

Quads are ready at last, and now all boards on the its way to me (and some early adopters)

I hope it’s needed about two weeks more for delivery to me

I think example number 3 in the first post is wrong. It looks like you are driving it with 7135s with leds in parallel, but you are using two cells in series?

Wow! I've never seen this kind of P60 heatsink, even from your previous builts over at Fonarevka and CPF, Dsche.

Wanna see more of it.

That is a work of art. Please show us more of this total build. Then sell them to us!

Very interested in trying out some of your work. PM sent from the other side.

(That’s how interested I am, your adapter dragged me in where I haven’t been in weeks)

I would definitely be interested if you made a triple XM-L2 board in 20mm.  These look nice but I already have triple XP-G Noctigons.  I might entertain getting a few quads boards from you.

How about 4 of those in your quad? Very interesting indeed…

someone here tied them and said they do not play very nice with the normal XP-(E/G) optics.

I assume you were referring to this thread by welight: Cree XPL. In the OP welight mentions that the XP-L just won’t fit under the Carclo and Ledil XP- optics. Dedome it and the problem goes away, but at that point there’s not much special about the XP-L other than the fact that it fits on a triple XP Noctigon.
