As i continue my unofficial tradition of gifting away my lights, i am left with a conundrum, i once again have no AA lights, so does anyone have both of these lights and can recommend which one i should get or a different one you would suggest instead? I like constant brightness drivers
I had the P1A for a week, and it is a good light with two modes, is there any reason to pick the Z2 to replace it? It has lower lumens but that translates to longer life, but only one mode, but i have never tried it and like trying different lights, but i can only afford one so please chime in your thoughts

The Z2 got 4 modes as far as I know.

I was in need of a single AA pocket light. I looked at brands like fenix. Then I saw the Z2. It is no secret that I am a big solarforce fan. I think everyone should own an L2M.
Well I broke down and ordered one of the Z2s on this last order. Here is my take. The clip is very nice. It secures the light in a pocket very well. The only thing about it is that the button is pointing up. I have found my light on several times. So now I just throw it to the bottom of my pocket. I tried to reverse the clip. Clip tension goes way down. The cool thing about reversing the clip is that it clips on a hat bill very well. The light is well made.

i meant in high mode it has less max output then the klarus p1a (assuming both are accurate lumen numbers)
the highest lumen 1AA i know of is the zebralight z52

Soon I will have them side by side but I think they will be two different animals (I own a p1a with a SF Z2 on order).
UI is totally different. I like that to p1a is simple operation but clicky mode changing and such has its place (Z2). As far as brightness/tint we shall see.
If I’m honest I only picked up the Z2 because I ordered a SF T2.
The p1a can still be had from Banggood with various coupon codes lurking around here. I have them in my cart (p1a and p2a) to give as gifts. I was thinking originally of giving Z2s as a gift to a non flashaholic.

It carries button up. I have found the light on in my pocket. And once found it dead. So I decided to swap the clip to the other end of the light. This is perfect for clipping to the bill of your hat around camp or for hiking. But not for pocket carry. The clip to body fit it loose thus the clip grasp on the pocket is weak. You will surely loose this light if carried like this. I also do not like lense up carry because the exposed lense is probe to damage.Today I carry the light loose at the bottom of my pocket. Ordering 2 pink ones for wife and daughter this month.
