That’s a Quark Tactical 2AA. Quark Turbos are these . Go to the bottom and you’ll find the AA version for US$52.50. The AA version of the Turbo is 33% off.

@Rod911. Yeah you are right. I made a typo. At $33 shipped, this is a fantastic deal for so many modes including moonlight and top level regulation.

Yea I had posted a tad earlier about their sale. I pulled the trigger on a Quark Tactical QTL Gen2 for $30. I like their products. Oh and they also had free shipping in the CONUS. Sounded like a fair deal to me.

I want to get this light… are they current regulation?

And do these lights still suffer from pre-flash? Is that a deal-breaker because it sounds pretty bad.

Still 33$ is a good price…

Their website reads that they DO have current regulation. I don’t know what the term “pre-flash” is or means. Others may be able to help you there.

Just reading this from the above website, but dont know if it was updated, or an issue for people, etc.

_ Quark Tactical

The Quark Tactical series is very similar to the Quark Pro series, but features a forward clicky and a different user interface. The tactical version has only two modes (tightened or loosened), but can have any of the 8 modes of the Pro programmed into those. The tactical models suffer from preflash where sometimes if the light is set to come on in low it will flash very bright when turned on. All of the Quarks have a mild preflash in Moonlight mode where the light flashes to Low before going to Moonlight. _

Thanks for the heads up. I have never noticed that on any of my lights. But wasn’t looking for it. That seems like it would be a bit irritating to say the least. I will have mine in a few days. Guess I will now be looking for that. Which may be or may not be a good thing. lol

Wow! Such a deal! I just ordered one. Thanks for the heads-up.

Pre-flash??? What’s that? Somebody from CPF straining at gnats to say something negative?(See: Remarks about MagLites)

For those who love to run around in their “tactical” BVDs, preparing to withstand an onslaught of…(Pick one)( )Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cats, ( )Marching Zombie Hordes, ( )Aliens among us (See: U.S. Congress) or ( ) Things that Go Slither in the Night, It could be a slight problem, Wink but for the general 99.8673% of us 8) who just want a good, reliable light, This looks like a true “budget” light!

At $33, with its awesome regulation and xp-g2 led, it is a great deal IMHO.
Out of this sale, the body (no tailcap or head) only costs $20….Go figure.

Wow. When did they change from using the XM-L? I see it is now an XP-G2 LED.

Pre-flash on moonlight exists but is so brief it’s really not the concern you might expect and certainly not ‘blinding’

Get it you’ll love it.

Which means that xp-g2 leds will be 20% brighter (lumens wise)…They have not updated the specs but it is the xp-g2 that is being sold.

Thank you. Mine has the XM-L. That is why I asked. I wasn’t even aware that they wade them in XP-G2. Smile

Best 2xaa light I have ever used/owned. I swapped a 4500k XML into mine, and programmed the modes to my liking and it’s my go-to light. For $30 this is the best 2xaa light you can ever buy.

Darn, I was looking for just such a light and on going there they seem to be out of stock.
Anyone else have them for this price?
They still have the 123 size lights in stock.

On the subject of preflash.

I have a Quark 123-2 (2 CR123’s, non tactical because I like tail standing lights the tactical can not tail stand) and the preflash that everyone seems to be bent is the lowest mode (moonlight 0.2 lumes) when it comes on it (flashes) Pulses at around 5-8 lumes for less than 0.125th of a second then drops to the sub lum power rating. If you are being all secret squirl then the clicking of the switch is going to give you away more than the slight “preflash”

I have to say a an EDC light it has replaced the fenix E11. I like it a lot and I am sure that there are at east 100 people that do not own either light and will tell me that I am wrong.

It is nice having a light that can pull off the range that the Quark series of lights manages to do with the quality of the lights they have. 4Sevens has done a great job on a flashlight.

mine arrived already – just a few days after ordering… my second nitecore mt21a also came today

i have to say – comparing the 4 sevens to the nitecore and my thrunite archer 2aa – I am not at all impressed with the 4 sevens.

The tint is crap and the driver squeals on turbo

I am debating returning it… or maybe ill just regift it

its not even worth the $33 i paid for it when you consider i got 2 nitecore mt21a’s for the same money

Would you mind keeping the wrong flashlight?

I emailed their customer service about mine well see how they handle this.

Ideally I will be able to just ship the head somewhere to get it fixed. At least this was the case with eagletac when I had a similar problem.

It does say that clearance items are excluded from their warranty and all sales are final… so well see where this goes lol.

Still impressed! Smile I had some trouble with mode memorization, even after watching Nutnfancy’s video, and reading the printed instructions, Sad but 4 7s Customer Service emailed me a YouTube demonstration of how to do that, and now its all programmed. I think I have seen the “preflash”. A non-issue, IMO. And, the price was right!

Never heard about that Nitecore before, just researched it now and nice looking light (I love 2AA lights.)

Can you please give me a link where I could get one for cheap? I only buy lights now if its a blow-out price or a really super deal.

Still waiting the my Quark to arrive, hope its okay. Im expecting (hoping) it to be on par with Fenix quality. Sorry to hear you had issue with yours. Sad
