Interesting… is it just me or does it look like the reflector flat step is resting on the dome?

Wonder what it is driven at?

For the price my MT-G2 build just got put to shame lol. I paid that much for the LED and 18350’s alone once shipped to my door. Still considering hosts.

Most likely. I wouldn’t expect precision with this.

i didnt think it was possible to run an mtg2 off one lithium ion as they have a forward voltage around 6v? (or 36v for some models)

Would you mind keeping the wrong flashlight?

Barely not, but it would if it was centered any worse. Wink

The listing details again.. Sad says CREE MT-G, shows a horrifyingly green beam shot, and only 1100 lumens at 3A.

I wonder how much more business one of these sellers would get if they actually took some time to test their products to get an accurate listing?

Yeah, I wonder what kind of driver this is? It says 3A current output…which should theoretically = about 2,100 lumens at the LED….could this the first case of ‘Chinese lumens’ being UNDERestimated?! Shocked

I wonder what driver is in it? It must be a boost buck as the led will be 6 volt. This may well have the 3000K led in it.

1100 lumens for an MT-G, but 1800 lumens for  XM-L T6.  Wacky.

In any case, I wouldn't take the risk since it uses an MT-G instead of MT-G2 and only uses one cell.

The low mode should be lower.

I thought the MT-G had a different appearance?

This could really be the real Chinese deal? Led looks like a MT-G2 and a Buck–boost converter style driver would run it. I’m really curious on the driver over everything else its got. Would be a good start if its true to start getting electronics into the pipeline. It’ll give a boost creating say P60 dropin’s or other single cell units running a MG-T2.

The vendor should submit a review sample so details like this can be clarified.

The low mode should be lower.

If it is a boost driver running from a single cell it's likely low output (1.5A?), that could be the reason for the claimed low output. Or they could just not have any idea what it is, that's rarely been a hindrance up to now.

I remember seeing a similar light mentioned in a thread some time in the past. I believe the light was from KD (if not lightmalls).

Description does not say MT-G2. Who knows what people will get.

Maybe something that is warm white and 5000K.  Digitally regulated at 3A output, producing 1100 lumen, and with a driver circuit that have input voltage uptowards 8,4V. The specs on this light make perfect sense..  H)

I recall that as well, R86. In that case it was an MT-G. The pics here look like an MT-G2. The 3A could be tailcap with a boost driver, which would be more like 1.8A at the emitter. Tough to know until someone gets a light a pops it open. Quick, someone ask them for a review sample. Wink

Welcome the night.
