26650 flashlight, e-cig USB phone charger mod. (beamshot)

I finished the Frankenmoiz last night and it works great! It was a relatively simple mod all things being relative. I started by removing the stock switch which also contained a small plug jack for charging from a outlet. In it's place I put two switches. One momentary switch for the e-cig and one rectangular tail cap switch for a C8. I did this by drilling out a hole for the 510 connector and filing out a rectangular slot for the switch. I used JB weld to keep them in place although they were both very tight to begin with.

To wire this up I bypassed the first driver which runs the USB plug with an extra positive wire to both switches. Then from the flashlight switch I put another wire and soldered it to the positive end of the driver and one to the positive pole on the 510 connector. the negatives are made by contact with the flashlight body. For the flashlight mod, I replaced the Q5 emitter with a de-domed XP-G2 on a sinkpad and jumped a resistor on the driver to up the amps. Later on I'll put a qlite driver in so it has the moonlight mode. The beam has a large flood zone but also a very tight hotspot. The reflector is actually half orange peal and half smooth. It's a very deep reflector for a small light. It has a nice solid heavy pill that screws into the flashlight which is also surprisingly solid. So it has good heatsinking.

I'm running king kong 26650 INR batteries so it will handle sub-ohm easily. The USB charger works great and is accessed by screwing down the silver ring. The flashlight is a great thrower with plenty of flood and the e-cig part is very comfortable to hit. I hit the button with my thumb and kind of hold it like a phone. I can use the flashlight and the e-cig at the same time. I'm very happy with this mod.

It was fun and easy to put together and just makes me smile thinking about how goofy it is but functional too. E-cig, Flashlight, phone charger and in a pinch I can charge it with a USB solar cell.

?. Lots of things come to mind but I’ll just say I’d love to see the guts of it. You i_t.

LOL

It basically just has two drivers. One up front with the USB plug and then empty space for the switches and then a pill with another standard sized driver.

It’s for the zombie apocalypse so I can play games on my android while vaping and shining a light in their eyes. Should confuse them.

Ha ha ha LOL! I love it. You just made my day complete man. Great mod. I have sometimes thought of similar mods but something held me back. But now that I see it it just makes me chuckle and want to do something similar at the same time. TY for showing it.

Thanks and you’re welcome. It really is a fun light for sure. It’s good to do something silly once in a while just for the heck of it.

You're my hero! :D

I like it. Sometimes I go to the electronic cirgit store to look for batteries. The one guy is very knowledgeable about li-ions, and he’s always chooching on this big haus of a device. It’s so neat to watch.

He though it was strange that I want that batteries for flashlights. I can’t wait to tell him somebody merged a e-cigrit and a flashlight

lol nice man

Thanks guys.

I did want to add a couple things. I am using an INR I wouldn’t do this with an ICR also this mod has a very light spring that would act as a fuse in case I ever do get a short. It also has enough air holes where the USB fits in that if it did vent it wouldn’t blow up in my face. Safety first especially when vaping lower ohms.

Yes and that is a big part of why I love it. Came back to this thread just to see the pics again. It is awesome in so many ways. One of them being that it surely is one of those "I Dont Care - I'm doing it!" mods that one hardly ever see. Still made my day today :-)
