18650 Keeppower question

First of all hello to everyone, its my first post here.

I’m new to Li-Ion batteries and i have a question. After gathering some flashlights and cheap trustfire batteies i also bought better ones(keeppower).
I need your help to determine are they genuine? I bought two types 3400mAh and 2200mAh. 3400 seems to be fine but what about 2200? i Cant find any info googling Part No.
Thank you for help.

Regards

batteries

I probably shouldnt comment as Im likely wrong here, but the one on the right says made in China, the left says cell and IC made in Japan, assembled in China. They could both be fakes, one be fake, or none. Just my observation.

I will also welcome you, but thats probably like being welcomed by a squatter. I guess as long as its not your house you dont really mind much.

Does the one on the left have the same sticker as the right one on it other side? I also notice a lot of differences in the text like the website on the left one, but not the right one but realise they may be showing opposite stickers anyway.

These batteries have stickers only on the one side!

I don’t own any Keeps to cross reference the visual clues with. I am sure some of the other members can be more assistance on those. But, don’t beat yourself up if you find you have bought some fakes. They (a general statement) can scam even experienced buyers & sellers for that matter. I have seen knock offs, of knock offs on these 18650 cells.

But for a better comparison, some may need more info. Like more pics of the top bottom and other label. Also, mAh rating for the one on the right.

Other than testing them with a tester & or cutting them open, it may be hard to tell. Curious to follow this thread and see what the guys with more experience say.

Either way, welcome to the forum. We love you. :davie:

First, where did you purchase the batteries? The one on the left looks like a real KP with a Panasonic cell inside. Recently KP started making a cheaper battery using a Chinese cell and I think a Japanese IC circuit, those battereis said “cell made in China” and “IC made in Japan”. Have not seen any that just said “made in China”.

Good suggestion

Left 3400, right 2200

Too bad i dont have good charger to check capacity :frowning:

Welcome to BLF.

The 2200 hardly qualifies as a fake since it doesn't have KEEPPOWER on the label. Looks like they just used the color scheme of a reputable company to sell product. Looks like it works. If a dealer told you they were genuine Keeppower and charged acordingly, I'd return them.

Only the one that actually says keeppower is a keeppower branded battery (panasonic 3400mAh with quality seiko protection). Who knows what the other one is. I would buy some 18650 heat shrink then open the wrapper to check what cell it is. It could be a good cell or it could be fake / old rewapped junk.

Heat shrink is easy to use. You can shrink it with a hair drier, over a toaster, over a lighter, etc. Rewrapping a battery , Shrink wrapping batteries

Link to where you brought them?

I bought them on this site.

You brought this battery? hurt.com.pl - 18650 Li-ion 2200mAh , Google translate.
If so, you did not get the keeppower battery that is advertised. The picture is part of the discription, I do not see it say anything like “item may be different then pictured”.
