Adoby from Sweden

Hi!

New member reporting for duty!

I am in the process of updating my flashlights. I had fun researching and buying a few years ago, but it cooled down. Now I have relapsed, and am using this forum to find some new recent gems to buy.

Some old gems from ancient times that I have been (and am) very happy with was:

Akoray K-106
Spiderfire SSC-P7
Ultrafire WF-008 Recoil Thrower Q5 (very fun light!)
Fenix L2D
Fenix E01
Fenix TK12
Zebralight H50 Q5
Hugsby P2

All are working and in use.

And of course also some lights that I prefer to forget…

Slightly more recently I have bought a Nitecore EZAA and some SK68 and even a newer Zebraligths.

I am not after max light intensity. The tint, size and long runtime are at least as important for me, as maximizing the output.

I have some new lights on order that I hope I will think of as gems sometime in the future as well:

  • Convoy S7 Cree XM-L T4-7C 1400mA with some new unprotected 3400 mAh 18650.
  • Convoy C8 T6-3C 2100mA.
  • First Brass XP-G R5 7C.

I am also fond of old Swedish kerosene stuff. Primus and Optimus. I have a small collection of renovated pressure lamps, preferably in brass and also some kerosene stoves, so how could I resist a brass flashlight with a warm tint…

Do you know of some obvious recent flashlight gem I have missed, please let me know…

Welcome, Adoby!
Nice selection you have there.
I still love my Akoray, too!
(modernized it a little , though)

Welcome, Adobe. You could try your luck in a Giveaway . There’s one going frequently. I try and limit my involvement but too often… just… can’t… resist.

This is your new family, Adoby!

Welcome to BLF, hope you enjoy your time here.

Välkommen to the most sympathetic flashlight forum on the web!

I’ve got a Spiderfire P7 too, my first li-ion powered light, still pretty powerful…

My current favourite lights are ZL SC52 and Nitecore D40A, and ZL H600 and Nitecore HC50 are my fave headlights, the HC50 somewhat heavy but has got a really great even, floody beam.

Most ZL and Nitecores come in neutral or warm too…

Welcome to BLF, Adoby!

Welcome to BLF Adoby.

If you like to control tint and runtime, you best start learning some modding skills. There is not much choice in high CRI flashlights out there (but more than it used to be), but if you buy the emitters and drivers separately and have some soldering skills, you can make nice flashlights with any specifications you want :-)

There's is also Mountain Electronics now (by BLF member RMM) that gives many options if you are not into modding yourself.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. That sounds like a nice collection already. Do you plan on updating any of them with newer emitters or drivers?

Hope you enjoy your stay. It might be a while!
