A purple SK68 for my wife?
I’m buying a lot of crazy lights now and it’s starting to appear on the wife’s radar. If I buy her one that she likes, she’ll probably let me get 10 more. So here’s the deal. She likes SK68’s a lot. How/where can if find a purple one to give her? Or something like that in purple? Small, bright as heck she can impress her Non-CREE friends with? An SK68 is perfect, I can even put a SAFT non rechargable 14500 in it and she can keep it in her car. So I need little bright purple light ideas. Please no Olight I3s or such. She’s got that on her keyring. I want bright like an sk68 and purple! Smile TYVM for any ideas guys!

I’m pretty sure they come in many colours probably including purple, but i forget which store has them

Gurly red (with some imagination it could be "pinkish")

Blue

To get full pink..might need to disassemble..then paint it yourself

I don’t want pink. Or blue. I need purple! Smile

One of these http://www.aliexpress.com/item/UltraFire-501B-Original-CREE-XM-L2-U3-LED-1600LM-LED-Flashlight-Multicolor/1542229579.html might work. But it is an 18650 battery. She’ll have it in the car a lot so I’d need something that won’t cook. Like the SAFT AA I have already…

I don’t think there are any purple SK68. There are plenty of red ones…

What do you think of the purple Xeno E03?

Xeno calls it blue, but they lie.

Too pricey?

The Xeno E03 looks nice. But it looks too cute to keep up with an SK68. It says it’s 310 LM though. Not bad. My problem is she’s played with about 6 SK68’s and SK98’s already and likes purple. If that’s SK68 bright it’s a great idea!

If you get an E03 with an XM-L emitter, it'll be brighter than a Sipik SK68 clone.   Wink

I can’t find a Xeno E03 in purple. On the interweb there are only 2 photos of purple ones. They are both on this forum! Figures the budget guys would be the exclusive owners of the only purple one sold.

You could always get a silver one...then color it yourself (red+blue = purple)

That guy is very good. But also very strange. Like he’s inhaled a few andonizing fumes over the years. I have 6 SK68’s in silver right now. But I don’t think they are silver. Just plain steel. They were the cheapest I could buy. I suppose taking a purple marker to them would be very sad.

I've looked at and bought 68 clones since I've been a member.  Never saw a purple one.

Fenix E05 is a nice purple one.  Only 25 lumens though.

I guess you could strip the old anodization first

http://www.instructables.com/id/Removing-Anodizing-From-Aluminum-Quickly...

Then apply the above coloring...doesn't seem too hard, just chemically dangerous and alot of hastle...unless you make a bunch of em to sell

If you anodize it yourself (purple) it’ll have that personal touch and her SK-68 would be unique. ^^

I don’t thing purple SK68 exist… But if there is a big group order they maybe can make it purple with nice options !
I think your only budget option is the purple ultrafire 501b, problem is the uncommon 18650 battery and the heat-sinking is the worst, only fine for 1000mA driver.

Other idea is a AA mini-maglite purple, the stock LED version have crazy 10.45h runtime on high at 77 lumens, same light output as the sipik68 on AA.

If there was a purple SK68, my wife would already have one.

You could paint it with duracoat, that stuff if probably tuffer than the original coating, but it would cost 6x more than the light.

I hate to bash you, but he said no i3s in the OP.

I personally would do a custom purple minimag if you have the extra cash.

Tank007 E09 is not purple but a metallic rosey pink (also in gunmetal/brown, and black). Here is mine with Nichia 119:

I think you should get the purple xeno, i don’t have one but from the specs it will make the SK68 look like an amateur
From my own research its the second brightest single AA light you can buy (brightest being the SC52)
