Keeppower%2014500%20800mAh%20(Black)%202014-info

Keeppower has two 14500 batteries in their program, this is the one from DLG (The other cell is from Sanyo and is marked 840mAh).

The discharge curves looks nice, with good tracking between the cells.

Keeppower%2014500%20800mAh%20(Black)%202014-TripCurrent

For a battery with a 1.6A rating the overcurrent trippoint is a bit high, but the cell has no problem delivering the current.

Conclusion

This is a battery with good performance, but capacity is lower than the Sanyo version.
I will rate is it as acceptable.

Good to have the DLG cell reviewed – thanks.

I’m a little confused though. You say:

“Keeppower has two 14500 batteries in their program, this is the one from DLG (The other cell is from Sanyo and is marked 840mAh).”

I appreciate that the Sanyo cell might be marked 840mAh, but the Keeppower battery itself shows (at least in your photo in your earlier review), 800mAh.

I had thought that the way to distinguish between the Keeppower 14500 Sanyo and the DLG cell was the wording – the Sanyo said “IC & Cell Made in Japan”. There was some mix up a few months ago when Keeppower seem to have mixed the two cells, but looking at your photos, there doesn’t seem to be any way of telling (from the label) whether they are Sanyo or DLG. Perhaps price is as good a way as any – we get what we pay for.

After that mix up Keeppower changed the labeling on their 14500 cells, now it is both the "cell made in" and the capacity that is different. A new review will follow soon.

I thought “IC” meant internal cell .
I thought the battery cell was made in japan
like it says on the label.
But then I read that the battery is made in China
And not made in japan
I do not understand this.
How are they allowed to do that. ?
Or it must be some kind of mistake?
Are they a good deal?
Will they fit in my sipik zoom light ?

IC is Integrated Circuit and is a reference to the chip that handles the protection.

LOL I did not know that.
I feel sorry for anyone buying these
who has not been on here and read this review.
They would think it was made in japan.
Someone should make a suggestion to the seller about it.

Oh . When I am buying a battery I look at the label.
I do not search the manufacturer’s website for evidence
that the label is incorrect. Do you? Any of you ???

Well…,
considering Keeppower’s cells recent labelling predicament, it might not be such a bad idea after all… Wink

They shipped batterys with chinese cells inside labelled als "Cell made in Japan", some say it was an accident, some say it was a fraud. Big discussion here on BLF, they promised to change labels and never put on wrong labels again (or improve their quality control, whatever version you believe).

They are trying to regain trust and some people seem to forget what happened, but I wont buy Keeppower again because they were shipping false labelled cells for about 2 years, way too long for a simple mistake.

But that case is closed, thats just a short summary of what happened.
