Where to buy good quality 10440 and 14500 cells USA or abroad?

Thanks to the fine help of a few members here they helped me pick out a bunch of AA and AAA sized lights that will run these Li-ion cells. The issue is i only have 4x 14500 Trustfire Flames and NO 10440 cells.

The 10440 cells can be unprotected as they will only be used in single cell lights only.

The 14500 cells can be protected and unprotected since i already have 4 protected ones that i can run in lights that will hold two cells. But i could use unprotected ones in single cell lights just fine.

I have a Pila charger so im not to worried about charging issues with the unprotected cells. But id like good quality cells but frugal also.

I know the TF Flame 14500's are pretty good for the price, But if i can get some with similar mAH capacity cheaper id like that. In any cell id like good capacity for the size anyhow, But i don't see the need to pay more for a few extra minutes tho.

Also from what ive been reading, Overstating capacities on 10440 cells is rampant and hard to find good cells.

So if you can point me to good cells in both sizes and where to get them at good prices id appreciate it.

If your single-cell lights can also run on a AA or AAA, you _need_ protected cells, at least as much so as with a multi-cell light. The same circuit that lets it work at the lower voltage of an alkaline or nimh battery will also suck the li-ions well past the damage threshold without you knowing it.

There's a lot fewer options for 10440s and 14500s as for 18650s... 18650s are a standard size used in laptop packs and millions of other things, while the smaller ones are specialty cells made by only a couple manufacturers.

The trustfire flame 14500s are probably your best choice. They are rather cheap on DX, and perform reasonably well. You can get AW IMR ones, which might be good if you have a very high-drain light, but they cost several times more than the trustfires.

I've never seen good 10440s... All the ratings are imaginary. Then again, I've also never seen bad ones - they all seem about the same. I use the trustfire grey ones. You can find IMR ones on some of the e-cig sites, but they're expensive and low capacity - and there's suspicions they're just standard cells with a fancy label stuck on them.

I never thought about the driver protection may not be there on a light that will run some NiMH and Li-ion cells both. Ill most likely stick with the TF Flame 14500's as i haven't found anything better in that price range. But for the 10440 cells it seems to me 350mAH seems to be the norm and anything stated above that is an exaggeration.

The only AW cells id buy would be the 18650's as those tend to make more sense imo.

I use those cells, no problem in more than a year

I always recommend protected batteries even if you are going to use in single-battery flashlights (use unprotected if protected doesnt fit....)

I have two packs of the TF Flame 14500's in my cart ready for order at DX. And these at ManaFont: http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/protected-trustfire-10440-37v-600mah-rechargeable-batteries-gray-4pcsset-p-5568

So id say we think alot alike! I really wish the 10440 cells were more popular and better quality as its limiting how many AAA lights i buy as i much prefer Li-ion cells too AAA primaries, Especially $2.50 each lithium Energizers. I have an ITP EOS A3 Upgraded and i love it and dont mind buying it the high end lithium primaries.

But doing for a bunch more lights i dont think i like that idea.
