Side Switch - Single AA

My wife would like a flashlight. She wants one with a side switch (VERY IMPORTANT - no twisties or tail cap switches), and one that uses a single AA battery. Doesn’t need to be mega-lumens. And a single-mode would be best.

The only thing I’ve found so far are cheap mass-produced ones I can on eBay get for a few dollars each. They tend to be poor quality and last only a few months.

I have many larger lights (too big), brighter lights (too bright), and multi-mode / programmable lights (too complicated) - but I can’t seem to find one that meets her requirements. Any suggestions?

Solarstorm SC01

This one is great. One of my favorite and great build.

It looks like the modes are High - Low - Off. Is that correct? It looks like a great light. I don’t know if I could sell her on the “you have to click it twice to turn it off” part.

I gave my godmother who has parkinson a Sipik AK25 (AA/14500/CR123A/16340) http://www.everbuying.com/product428507.html

Olight S15 sounds like it would fit the description.
It is good quality, side switch, 1xAA… it does have multiple modes, but it goes on/off with a simple click.

Maybe a Zebralight SC2? They aren’t cheap, but they are awesome little lights.

We often tend to think in terms of maximizing lumens or throw. Anyone ever do a Micromag with the tank 007 driver?

+1
and it has 1 or 2 extension tubes too

For a lady, a jewel… The new Klarus MiX7 Ti

If my wife looked like that, she could have =any= light she wants

expensive but meets most of your requirements and has a display screen and high brightness

Take a look at the Ultrafire UF-T20: click
It has one of the most useful beam patterns I have seen in a light that size. While it has a ramping mode, you can use it as a single mode light: just ramp it to the desired level and switch it on from then on normally. It will remember the output level, even if you lock it out with the tailcap as I do.
It will run on AA/14500 and can even be shortened to use ( r )cr123a.
I EDC it for a year or so and am still happy.
