Long story short, I sold it in perfect unused condition (never taken out of the packet) and had it returned to me with a few screws missing in the handle and a hairline fracture in the scales.
I don’t recall how many screws are missing, maybe 2 or 3 and the scale will need to be replaced or fixed.
I would estimate the screws to be M3 but I could be wrong, I’m not sure where you could find the correct info.
It would make a good candidate for custom scales or other mods.
The only condition I am giving it away in is if the person who takes it is willing to put in a effort to fix and to post a few photos of the finished result.
The first person to reply they want it to fix I’ll PM them and ask for shipping details.
Wait, EL01 in Aus? Thought they was ummm, lets say naughty due to the flipper?
Cool giveaway, no idea where Id start, I just want a stock one but havent bothered to order them as I was led t believe they wont get through (if inspected).
I've been looking at this knife for a long time cuz I feel the el is too heavy and too big ,been seriously considering the smaller brother of the two . I like the 763 srm a lot because of weight and size .
I’ve just taken one of the scale screws out of my EM-01 and an M2.5 x 5mm fits. I can only find Posidrive heads in the countersunk M2.5 x 5mm size but they fit, the Posidrive size 0 fits the M2.5 csk heads. It might be worth replacing them all with Posi heads and keeping the others for spares.
You’ll need a Torx T6 to remove the scales and a Torx T8 for the pivot screw.
Nice knife but in the size and linerlock format there are so many alternatives, I like the SanRenMu 7063LUC-xxx models. The G10 scales on the EM-01 are warmer in the winter though.
Love the way you handle that in the video, your dexterity is quite good! I might could do that, but have always been loathe to play with knives and guns. (my buddy used to do the twirling a gun by the trigger guard thing) Goes against the grain, like throwing a perfectly good flashlight out the window of a moving vehicle…
At any rate, have fun Steve and looking forward to seeing how you fix it. I expect to see an LED in it by the time your’e done.
