I picked up the BLF SA-22 a while ago and have been looking for a diffuser for it ever since. My measurements say it has a 36mm head but most diffusers come in under 34mm. Is overheating a potential problem with too-tight diffusers? Is there a perfect solution I’ve been overlooking?

Try ordinary scotch tape. I use it all the time. Sometimes build up a tear off model that I can attach to the side of the light when it is not in use. Put it on when I need it.
