What's Your Thoughts On GEARBEST

Hey all,

I have been looking at a couple lights to buy and somehow I got on the GearBest site. They have quite a few lights and cells and the prices seem pretty good, but I haven’t researched that much though.

I have never used them before and thought I’d ask you all and see what you all think of them and what your experience was like dealing with them.

How quick were they to ship and deliever?

How did you find their prices to be compared to others on the lights and cells?

Any other info you want to pass along would be great.

Thanks

Nalajr

Take a look at this thread and my latest fun experience with GB.

I have ordered from them. They are fine. Not perfect but fine nonetheless. Nobody in business, Chinese, American, Japanese, etc etc is going to be 100% problem free. I even had a light disappear in shipping. Remedy was quick easy and painless.

They are my #1 Chinese seller, but they do not ship amazingly fast. Orders usually arrive between 2-7 weeks.

They are very agressive and spam a lot this forum, often registering as new members to spread deals and attract attention to their website. I personnally dislike their tactics.

I’ll say they are very slow at shipping. Took a full 7 days to supposedly ship, I haven’t seen the light I ordered and its been around 30 days now.

I’ve received orders from China many times, GB is the slowest one so far, I hope it gets here eventually. My usual is 10 to 12 days from China once they give a tracking number. So, I bet gear best doesn’t actually ship when they say they do. I ordered a headlamp two weeks ago off that alieexpress, it took 10 days total to my door, ordered a HID kit, that took 12 days. GB is north of 30 now….

So I would rate them about like Fasttech… I’ve had better results from alieexpress lately, better than ebay thats for sure.

I had 3 orders so far from them, all went perfectly well and even relatively fast!
The 4th order will be on it’s way to Germany soon hopefully, cause it is already paid.

There is two people from GB on this forum, the rest of the people “spreading” spam arent connected to them in any way other than them sending products to be reviewed and then giving discounts on those products. We dont get a dime from them, just saying

They are aggressive and sometimes sloppy, maybe only in their favor, I don’t know. They are aggressive about their products and prices as well as about SPAM and worthless coupons. So far I am pleased with what I have from them. Most of what I have is from BLF Deal Alert Thread, I am not sure about their other stuff yet.

I would say that they are not all that much worse or better than any of the Chinese sellers. If you look at things from the perspective of long term, I can name many sellers that have been called spammers or disreputable over many years. Dealextreme, Wallbuys, Kaidomain, Fasttech, Lightscastle, Lightmalls, Babggood and on and on and on. It all depends on what you want the most. If the absolute lowest price is your thing, then you can expect to have some hassles of long shipping times, etc. If premium customer care is what you want. Only buy through US sources like Amazon, where returns are always accepted. Just depends on what you want. You will hear good and bad about all of them and that is just personal opinion.

I swear about all of them all the time, but when it comes down to it, if I need to use them, I will use whoever does the lowest price.

I think, GearBest is one of the best sellers for stuff like flashlights or so.

They have plenty oif coupons that really save you money, to germany the shipping via PostNL isn’t too long and the products are always well packed.

Also they have some lights I have never seen before - the LuckySun D80 for example.

I like them very much and will keep buying

GearBest sells Olight flashlights, but the site is not mentioned as an online dealer by Olight. I wonder if the lights are fake or genuine. Does anybody know?

You may get fakes from Amazon too; always check: amazon commingled inventory - Google Search

Gearbest has a new spamvertising tactic:

When we see J. Random Blogger posting a recommendation with a GB link, it’d be worth asking “do you actually own that now, or are you trolling to get one free?”

Sigh. I’d think this breaks the FTC rule on compensation for online recommendations.

a shame that more and more “gearbest deal” threads are showing up now… with mostly the same codes but a different affiliate ID.

This has been my experiences as well with GearBest. My only bad experience thus far has been with Bangood.

I usually do a small order or two to see how a retailer is and go from there. They are a great resource if you want to save a few bucks and are not in a hurry for what you are ordering.

Bob

they’re OK

i used to have problems with them not accepting my credit card, they may have fixed that

shipping is slow, but no worse than the other chinese cheap sites

they do have a lot of stuff

wle

Had my share of issues but it all got fixed
From the bigger shops they usually are cheapest.

It gets a bit annoying all those “deal topics” just a bit too much IMHO
I like their official deal thread and if I want something I know M4DM4X is the person to talk to so those deal topics do not benefit me. (But please let it be, BLF ia just a friendly place with space for that kind of thing too so …)

I have placed 57 orders from Gearbest with mixed results. Their prices are untouchable except for wholesale I get from a few companies. Shipping is pretty hit & miss. I have had two orders never show up and it takes forever to get refunded. Name brand products there are good meaning a Nitecore, thrunite, fenix light will be genuine. The thorfire and Ultrafire (or all “fire’ brands) I would stay away from. As a whole, unless an item comes from a US-Warehouse, shipping is slow as molasses.
I got several Lumintop TD16 lights for $34 recently and they arrived promptly and thats a screaming good deal on an excellent quality light. Coupon Code is TD16GB.
I bought two Utorch UT02 lights from them which is a Manker U21 basically and their price is excellent. I found them to be a slightly brighter version of the U21 foe less money and GearBest had them to me in 12 days.

All cells I received that are not “fire” branded have been genuine and I have bought a lot of them. There is a problem with buying Li-Ions from China currently. Fedex or DHL through the UAE are the only option for cells from China so shipping wrecks the pricing. I’m is California so I buy from three sources (online) for batteries and all three are reasonable and very reputable:
Illumination Supply in San Jose CA
Li-Ion Wholesale in PA
Mountain Electronics (MTN Electronics)

All three have supplied me 100% legit and genuine NEW cells. Fast shipping and good prices.

I cannot find a US Source for Liitokala 26650 cells (baby blue) which are absolutely awesome. Anybody know of one??

I have had no problems with Gearbest ever.
(hope it stays that way)
