X6 polished

Hey guys after looking at my X6 polished up i wish we had that option it looks awesome, just some pics i still have to get some polish cleaner to clean it off. Its waiting for a copper triple heatsink

Oh yeah…like vey much!

How’d you do it?

if u let it soak in some oven cleaner for about 2-3hr it will come out a nice half shiny aluminum finish, i then took a 3 inch screw with a wing nut and went through the bottom of the switch section and hooked it to my drill and went at it :)

You spun it with a drill and buffed it?

And…it is an X6-SE…not just a lowly X6

HAHA yea its a BLF SE X6, used a drill and buffed it i might try something else tomorrow but its confidential for the moment if it works

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish.

Thats what i used

So you strip the anno with oven cleaner then go nuts on mothers mag and alloy polish? And how did you avoid damaging the AR lens and gadgets and boot ?

Very carefully.

The light is stripped down to its individual components first and then reassembled when finished.

Good job :exmark:

Nice to see a different optics for x6!

Man has got some skills! lol Love it. It really looks great! Not sure if I am brave enough to do that to my $19 light!

But, I may try the oven cleaner on the box. Ya know to get the tape goo off! lol

Well done. I think it looks nice.

It actually came out with a polished brass color or is that a photographic artifact?

Yes, oven cleaner will take off HAIII ano, but it can really make a mess of aluminum too.

FYI… true type HA III ano does penetrate and grow the surface. If your process did maintain that beautiful artificial brass finish, you may not have much left until you uncover the aluminum silverish color.

Thats the pic that did thst, its a real nice polished aluminum

Looks nice nitro!

thanks wight as u can see your boards are on the bottom of the lite soon it will be inside :)
