The flashlight was provided by EachBuyer for review.
Overview:
The flashlight arrived in cardboard box that says “Hasky”.
Inside were: the flashlight with regular DC plug, DC to USB cable, bike mount, silicone diffuser, user manual.
The machining and anodising are good.
Modes: High (Pulls 2A from USB) > Medium (1A) > Low (0.4A) > Strobe >Slow Blinking > SOS > Off. Long press (~2s) from any mode will turn the flashlight off, but it will advance to next mode first. No memory, comes on on High.
Diameter: 37mm, length: 44mm, Cable: 78cm, DC to USB cable: 40cm
Construction/Build Quality:
Overall machining is good, no sharp edges, smooth threads. After close inspection I found a couple of small marks on the bezel. It’s under anodising so likely came off the factory than that (6 and 10 o’clock):
The anodising is good, no flaws. Text on the bezel seems to be laser engraved, sharp and clear.
The pill has solid top. A lot of thermal paste under led star, the wire are potted with some gooey white stuff. The pill is quite loose fit into the body and sits on a narrow ledge. It does gets hot quite quickly though and comparing beamshots at 0s and 30s I didn’t notice any difference.
The driver sits very tight. I couldn’t get it out. I didn’t want to apply too much force not to break it.
UI/Light output:
As stated earlier, the flashlight has 6 modes: High (Pulls 2A from USB at 3.6-4v) > Medium (1A) > Low (0.4A) > Strobe >Slow Blinking > SOS > Off. No memory, always starts on High. Long press to off is nice, but the light will advance to next mode first, so you can’t turn it of from low without getting into strobe. Not a problem when turning off from High of Medium as you will get into lower mode. I couldn’t detect any PWM, not even by shining on PC fan. I think the brightness is current regulated also because when connected to 1A USB power supply there is no difference in brightness between high and medium.
