Test/Review of Tandy AA 2450mAh (Black)

Tandy AA 2450mAh (Black)

Official specifications:

  • Capacity: 2450mAh

Maximum temperature raise at different discharge currents: 1A:+0,7°C, 2A:+2,6°C, 3A:+4,8°C, 5A:+10,7°C, 10A:+19,2°C,

This are the batteries sold from a British shop with the shop name on it, i.e. their own brand.

There is a small capacity difference between the two cells, it is not a problem with NiMH batteries. Their capacity is significantly below the stated value, the capacity do also drop more with increasing load than many other NiMH batteries.
An interesting detail is the very fast drop when the battery is empty, I have not seen that before.

Conclusion

If the batteries was sold as 2050mAh they would be acceptable, but at 2450mAh they are way below specifications.

Thanks for the review! Great to see more and more of your AA tests!

Pitty it didn't live up to its specs..

I have nearly 20 AA/AAA reviews in queue, about half of them already tested. With all the other stuff I also have I will probably publish a bit more frequently (At least until I run out of chargers or LiIon batteries).
