Best charger? USB input - USB Output - AA and AAA - 2 slots min

Hi,
I have been reading this forum and others and I decided I need to ask for help, to much information and I have been lost with too many options…

I want to buy a charger with the following specs:

- 2 Slots. 1 is not enough and 4 can be considered is there is no other option and the size is not too big.

- It should be able to charge each cell independently.

- I want to charge AA and AAA NiMh. I already have a Soshine SC-S7 UK for other types of batteries. This is for the mouse and other tipical batteries I

- USB input. I travel a lot, so having a USB input is good so I do not need to buy any more AC adapters.

  • Optional: USB output. This would be great to have, but it is not a requirement anymore (tired of looking for the “perfect” charger for me ;))

- Top cost 30$. I would like to buy 2-4 AA Batteries at the same time, so any bundle will be good too.

Of course I found the Sanyo Eneloop USB Travel Charger but the price is too big to consider ($63 on amazon right now) and it is difficult to find.

After that I didn´t find any other charger that fits on this specs.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Nitecore Intellicharger i2…but doesn’t have USB in or out AC or 12vdc input

Xtar WP2H is good for Li Ion but not NiMH

Digipower TC-3000 looks interesting…but doesn’t have USB (its 12vdc also)

Try the Panasonic BQ-CC14

I know the Xtar VC4 is coming which should cover most of your requirements

I would also suggest the panasonic BQ-CC14 if you can find it. I’ve got the sanyo NC-MDU01 which appears to be pretty much the same charger. It’s a great little charger and works well for aaa and aa nimh cells. I wish I had bought a couple of extra when I got this as they aren’t usually available anymore.

sanyo - panasonic usb charger

John.

Thanks. But that one has the same problem, it is not easy to find anymore.

I found it on Ebay.

I need NiMH, I already have the Soshine SC-S7 for the LiIon and USB is a must for me (which make this more difficult)
I read that list (i did also before I order my soshine 2 years ago) and it seems there are no USB chargers there with the specs I am looking for.

Thanks John, the problem is that it is difficult to find too. I have been trying to search it and, or the price is too high or it is not available anymore.

Hi, It looks like it is out already.

Reading about it, it seems it is the one that covers most of the requirements. Thanks! Great option and it was not on the other posts I read.

Can I trust this shop?
http://www.xtardirect.com/products/xtar-vc4-charger

Shall I wait to buy it on amazon?

What is the difference between the Xtar VC2 and the Xtar VC4?

I am happy with an smaller option and I only charge 2 batteries at the same time normally.

EDIT: I can see the vc2 does not charge NiMH.

That is a nice looking charger. Not too complex however able to charge almost any battery a person has on hand.

John.

Does anyone know if this charger (Xtar VC4) will be available on Amazon?

Thanks

If local service is your reasoning, there are options for that. Richard from Mountain Electronics (a member here) does XTAR stuff, but I dont know if he has that model yet. You could ask him directly here. ‘RMM’ is his member name.

Store - Chargers

Well, I just do not know about the xtardirect.com shop. If you know about it and it is a shop we can trust, thats ok.
The main reason is that I have the prime on amazon, so it will give me the warranty and save some $ too.

Thank you for the links. I will check them and contact Richard too.

If you can get the Sanyo/Panasonic for nimh go with them.
If that doesn’t work out, the Soshine H2 V2 would come to mind.
Does not have the best charging capabilities(won’t charge nimh compleatly) but is acceptable. It works from micro usb IRRC. Mini USB, too bad.
Would give you a Li-Ion and LiFePo4 option wich is nice to have. Also fair priced at 20ish $.

HKJ has a review on his page and in the charger section.
