Fantasea Nano focuslight mod (aka Aquamir or Mangrove)

This is an all plastic focuslight that’s made/sold by some diff companies. Not very bright, crappy beam pattern (8 “old type” LEDS), One mode only and automatic shut down by the camera flash for 3 secs which is annoying, esp at night. They turn on by unscrewing bezel which is not good seal wise (floods easily).

Got 2 of these and they are currently being upgraded. The switch is a “screw in bezel” instead. 3 mode is preferred (lo mid hi)

There’s 4 possible batt setups (that fits me) but have a hard time finding fitting drivers.

1: 4 AAA’s eneloops serial (5.6 V max ca 800 mAh) Will Nanjg AK-47A cope with 5.6 V?

2: 2 X 2 AAA’s eneloops parallel (2.8 V max ca 1600 mAh) parallel mod is finished. Driver? https://www.fasttech.com/products/1612/10001750/1127407-12-aaaaa-5-mode-800ma-linear-booster-led-flashligh

3: 4 X 10400 (16,8 V max ca 300 mAh) All drivers found are too high in output.

4: 2 X 2 10400 (8,4 V max ca 600 mAh) same as above.

Maybe 5 1W cree in serial and use this driver with 2X2 10400’s https://www.fasttech.com/products/1612/10005881/1451321-tr-0055c-15w-5v-8-4v-5-mode-0-8a-5-cree-p4-q5-led

Get a copper or alu cylinder as sink that fits the head and attach 5 cree. Only last minus pole will be soldered, rest of ’em needs to be raised up and insulated while center of cree rests on sink, hope this makes sense.

The AK47 MCU can handle 5.5V. 4xAAA under load will never make that voltage because the batteries sag. Also, battery carriers with all those springs and contact points eat quite some voltage as well. The 7135 chips are fine with even highrr voltage. Only thing is that the chips might burn quite off some voltage (but I doubt it is that much because of above reasons), but I've abused them much worse than what you are doing. If there is some metal to heatsink the driver a bit you should be fine.

used AK-47 and a standard P60 pill, get 5+ V before the driver.

Other light will get five 1W or 3W Epileds in series sinked to a 22mm star. Not sure 2X2 10500’s will manage to drive a TR-0055C. 1W’s (90 lumens) i had lying around and they fit the head so will try those first.
