500 posts now, time to give something away (winner announced)

Congrats 202bigmike! You’ve WON!

Random number generator selected number 51.

Video of Number generator

I’ll send you a PM shortly to discuss getting you your gear.

In a little bit I’ll be deciding who has won the surprise for best lens recommendation. I’ll contact them via PM and get their information and they’ll find out what they got when they get the package.

I want to thank the BLF community for being a great group of people. I’ve been here as a poster for 6 months and unlike many of the other forums I’ve visited over the years I feel like a member here instead of just another user. I just made my 500th post and thought I might give something back. However in the spirit of learning, sharing, and budget performance there’s going to be a twist for those with motivation to improve their chances.
So here’s the game. A simple “I’m in” gets you entered for the drawing. If you post a unique link to a lens with a 100+mm usable diameter, focal length of less than 100mm, and less than $20, you’ll be entered again. The same goes for a tailcap board for a 3 cell soup can style light under $4, or GITD o-rings larger than 100mm.
So everyone can be entered up to 4 times however the later you start looking for links, the harder it will be to find a unique one. I’m going to run this until Sunday May 24th, the winner will be chosen by a random number generator and announced Monday the 25th.

I will pay for up to $15 in shipping, this would cover anyone in the US, anyone outside of the US please consider if the shipping would cost more than this and whether or not you want to participate. If the winner is outside the US and declines because of the shipping expense, a new winner will be chosen.
What can one win in the first KKW giveaway? Pretty decent stuff if you ask me.

The winner is going to get a red Convoy S2+ with an XM-L2 T6 4C and 8×7135 driver, Solarstorm SC01, XTAR MC1+ charger, and a light to cure the flashlight disease. All items are brand new.

In addition to the winner of the above items, I will contact the person with (in my opinion) the best lens suggestion and they will receive a surprise.

Thanks again BLF, and good luck!

200mm focal lentgh (10$)

50mm focal (32$ too expensive)

Hey I tried Silly

This may be under 100mm idk
http://www.amazon.com/Enkay-2912-4-Magnifying-4-Inch-Diameter/dp/B00MS3408U

that was a great waste of time!

I gave you credit for trying. Good effort, the $20 cap may be unreasonable for a good lens this size with a short focal length.

I intentionally tried to pick some good things to give away because this has been a great place. Compared to what I’ve learned in my time here this hardly seems generous enough.

The people like djozz, HKJ, (removed to protect the innocent Wink ), Old-Lumens, RMM, n10sivern, Wight, and others, have given far more to this community in the form of their time and effort. I know that I and everyone else is standing on the shoulders of tall men, and they have made it easy to light up the next mountain over, and wonder how much further we can go.

Wait!! What if we don’t want to be cured?!

Isn’t that item and the others mutually exclusive? If I take the cure, what would I want all that flashlight stuff for?! If I take the flashlight prizes then I’m going to run from your “cure”!

I actually exercise good self control with flashlight purchases, I need no cure.

What diameter tailcap board for a 3 cell soup can? Parallel 3 × 18650?
This would be something you’re in need of for one of your lights?

I ‘d like to participate competing with your rules, but i m not very good yet in finding appropriate things for advanced modding… I usually end buying something useless…anyway. ..is this appropriate to your terms?

Parallel 18650’s, I’m working on designing a light, so there are no specific requirements for diameter of the board, but it needs to be designed for high amps/low resistance. Good springs would be nice, but not a necessity as they will be bridged with 18ga wire.

I’m fairly sure the focal length is going to be longer than 100mm being only 19.5mm thick. I’ll give you credit for trying when I update the list.
