It looks like with the extension it should fit two AAs (100mm) or 3 Cr123s (102mm). Without an extension it will fit an 18650 or two cr132s (68mm).
Same with most other solarforce lights with the same short extension tube. I’ve done it with one of my L2Ms and it rattles alot.
Just make sure your drop in can handle the voltages. The link you provided is only for the body, no led or driver.

I have an L2r and would love to fine an extension tube that would fit it for one more battery. AA batteries do not fit the standard L2 host well at all, they need to be in a tube of some sort.
The old L2r, which is kinda hard to find now-a-days, has a slimmer tube made for AA’s. Maybe some old member has one for sale. Hey Foy, are you out there? JustaskingFoy
