what is the favorite pen shaped light according to your experiance. Actually, instead of favorite i should say best performing maybe :) For example i found 4sevens preon 2 (having 160 lumen) Maybe there are others. And from which supplier i can buy the light having international free shipment?
My son just started EMT school and one of the required items is a penlight . He was told to buy an incandescent penlight because LEDs were too bright .
I privately feel that the color rendition also plays a role....

To the OP , " best performing " is different for everyone ... But we haven't had a good penlight discussion in a while so I'm quite interested to see the responses here .
The Preon II is awesome, I've played with 2 (bought as gifts). The only negative would be it doesn't tailstand and isn't available in neutral or warm tints anymore. The button felt great to me.
Edit: One of the ones I bought was the warm version for my brother-in-law who is a doctor.
Ordered a few to try. I like the styling. Will do emitter replacements for sure if the tint is not decent.
What's not to like? The logo perhaps. On the other hand it's not a bright one 30lumens if real are more than enough for my desired need. Runtime wise better. :)
Decent ones, osrams, cree... but depends what current the driver privide to be somewhat worthy. I have a junk AA light and have put an osram instead of a generic one i gained perhaps 30% brighness but the tint and beam was much more pleasant.
