It has side switch. I didn’t like side switch on flashlight because I’d need few mili seconds to locate its position. But it has a pocket clip, makes me easier to find the switch position easily.
It’s pretty small, even for an average asian man like me.
The pocket clip also help me hold this light firmly in my hand while I press the switch.
It uses TIR optic instead of lens and reflector. I think TIR optic contributes a lot on shorten head, thus shorten flashlight length.
The lens is hold in place using strong bluish metal bezel. I don’t know if PVD technology made it blue or other factor, but it’s cool.
It’s powered by a single CR123 battery. Yes, RCR123 is also allowed to use here.
One thing to notice is that we must insert the battery backward (positive pole faces tail), unlike other flashlights out there.
There’s polarity sign printed on the flashlight body, although it may covered by pocket clip.
But don’t worry, inserting battery the wrong way WILL NOT destroy this flashlight, I’ve accidentally tried it.
Talking about the tiny size, Olight S1 Baton has almost identical dimension with 4Sevens (now Foursevens)’ Quark Mini 123, just a little bit longer (about 1-2 mm).
I was worry if I will accidentally turn on this flashlight while it’s inside my pocket. But this will unlikely happened because the “click” of the switch is pretty deep.
Clap your hands, this little companion also equipped with strong magnet on its tailcap. Make it possible to attach it into almost any metal surfaces on earth.
Don’t be deceived by the size, this little light is capable to burst 500 lumens of light.
Beamshots and other outdoor photos will be posted within few days. Stay tune!
