XP-L HI tints question and availability of v3 2b

I’m looking at some lights with XP-L HI, and also sourcing some pre mounted XP-L HI LED’s for upgrades. I’m trying to learn more about tints and bins.

Would someone please advise me if the XP-L HI LEDs have a warmer looking tint compared to the same tint# in XPL/XML/XML2?

In other words is a XP-L HI 3C warmer than an XPL 3C because it isn’t domed? Or is that already factored in to it?
Do some of the cool white XP-L HI actually look neutral?

I notice the v3 2b falls between the tint of the v2 3c and the v2 1a, plus its the higher bin so it looks like I’d like to try the v3 2b but it seems to be sold out on 16mm board. Does anyone know where to buy them pre mounted on a 16mm noctigon?

Searching the forum about it I notice the comments “will have to wait for the next bin to come out” (v4?) So I assume when one of these is sold out they don’t make it anymore?

I’ll probably have to settle for some v2 3c, hope its not too warm, XML/XML2 3c has been OK for me, but on the chart 3b is just a tad cooler, which I thought I would like better. Or maybe wait and v4 will be available in 3b.

I’ve been searching too, haven’t found one yet though!

If you’re buying from Richard you can request him to reflow the LED into a 16mm board.

I think V4 and V5 are listed in the datasheet so it’s not a matter of “is it coming” but when. I used both V2 1A and V3 2B and the brightness is hard to differentiate if not impossible with bare eye, the V2 1A being perfect CW and the V3 2B almost touching NW as you said. Even if a new bin comes out it shouldn’t be much improvement from the V3, probably 50 lumens or so at 3A?

Personally I like pure CW for high output lights and throwers, and NW for smaller lights and the ones I use up close.

No, their are not, I was saying that ever since the XP-L HI was announced.

I ordered a XP-L HI V3 1C tint emitter from Kaidomain yesterday to try out
