The driver spring is bypassed (via mtnelectronics) and the tail spring is bypassed using Dales method of drilling a hold through the pcb and soldering the wire directly to the switch. I also soldered the copper spacer to the brass pill. It has a 2 minute step down. It gets almost too hot to hold at 30 seconds and you can’t hold it at the 2 minute mark. I used a BLF A6 with a CW XP-L that has the driver and tail springs bypassed as well. Each light was powered using a freshly charged Efest 35a battery. The pictures really don’t do it justice because I’m not a photographer so my camera is on auto, lol.
How does it feel with the little chunk of copper up front, I imagine nicely weighted toward the head…
How do you like the beam pattern?
If you turn off the memory on the driver so it comes on in low always, it will reduce the chances of roasting the chestnuts if its in the front pocket…
The weight is wonderful, not too heavy at all. I don’t have the memory mode on, I like all my lights starting out on moon. The beam pattern on white walls isn’t all that great but outside, in the dark…it’s a whole other ball game…it has a nice spread, not too wide and not too narrow.
