Lidl LivarnoLux LED Torch 1W 3 AAA (2015) Details?

Hi.

As anyone taken a look at this years Livarnolux LED 3 AAA torch from Lidl? It’s a side on/off mount button in an alu tube, with a 1W LED supposedly outputting 64 lumens, with a 5 hour battery life, so seems cheap, cheerful, and not particularly efficient, but for a £4 thinking it might be worth a punt, even if it’s just a host to use as an introduction to modding.

Ta!

It might be an host for a 26650 light maybe, I didn’t see them in my local Lidl

It was on offer in the UK at the beginning of the month, and my local has about 15 left with a 20% off the £4.99 RRP.

Having had a look at the unit in it’s sealed case, it looks more like a COB arrangement than a discrete LED, which is a shame Sad

I’m considering grabbing it and looking to convert it into a 15lm reading torch for my son “somehow”.

Edit: Bought it. looks like direct drive, with a LED on what appears to be a copper base, discrete Round LED. Assembly is stamped “MODEL: S-5007d, Ver:03”

It’s got an o-ring at each split, but the anodisation is very poor – after 2 seconds on my desk, it’s already coming off.

Currently trying to work out how to get the switch/pill out of the unit.
