I am planning to run a XHP50 J4 using a LD2 driver in either a Convoy M2 or C8, powered by 2x Efest IMR18350 10.5A button tops in series (as a married pair). My math indicates that there should be enough headroom and it should run for about 5 minutes, but I thought it best to check since this is new ground for me and I’ve seen bad things happen to batteries run in series.
Yes it will run in that set up. Don’t put a half charged cell in with a full one and check cell voltage before and after use as cells age to be sure they drain in sync.
I use an XTAR VC2 charger which does that. I have ecig mods which use dual batteries in series and what I normally do is label them, then alternate the order they go into the device (A,B - B,A - A,B etc).
Your output is going to look like the back side of a rainbow. I’ve never had an issue with running multi cell set ups as long as they were purchased together, charged together used, together always. I also try to avoid running the cells down below 3.25 volts. It’s my bit of caution I figure if I don’t push it, it won’t push back. Run time might actually be a bit longer as the cells sag increases. AND you must post PICTURES.
