I need a new Soldering Iron

My Weller crapped out and wont heat up anymore. I would prefer one from Amazon since I have a Prime Membership and would like it sooner.

Any suggestions ??

Thanks in advance

Solder stations.

I got a cheap adjustable one for like $8 from GearBest. It’s the clear plastic one so you can see the electronics inside. Overall I’m really happy with the quality and glad I didn’t spend more money. I also got some solder from them and what looked like the same suction pump for double on Amazon.

I was looking at this one before settling on a Yihua 936B:

Plus 1. I am just getting into modding. I really like it so far.

Thought I’d post this up for anyone considering the Hobby King clone. It is on sale from the West coast Warehouse for $11. If you sit on the page a bit, a popup will drop it down to $10 something. Less that $20 shipped Fedex.
Hobby King Hakko 936 clone
It has gotten decent reviews from members here.

I got it last month and i really like it
I also got pack of tips for it from ebay because the one that comes with it is just too thin

Regular Hakko tips fit ok? Any particular tip size you prefer?
Thanks

Yes , regular Hakko tips fit
Tip that comes with it is a niddle tip and i like chisel tips
How wide? , depends on what im doing

If you get a clone, The tips that come with it tend to be too large and the element won’t conduct heat to the tip as well. I bought some “hakko” tips in a large pack. Works out pretty well.

What do you guys think of this one ?

I use this $3.99 iron from Harbor Freight:
http://www.harborfreight.com/30-watt-lightweight-soldering-iron-69060.html

I use one for soldering, another in a smoke generator for cold-smoking cheeses. I save the tips from the cheese-smoking irons and using them in the soldering iron when the other tip wears out. The cheese-smoking irons tend to rust out pretty quickly from being buried in burning wood chips…

i got Hobby King Hakko 936 clone and 9 extra tips from ebay for hakko and all fits and works great

LMAO

Love me some smoked cheese

Bad link. Try this one: Banggood TS100

Seems to use proprietary tips, but cheap enough: LINK

Looks interesting, but I’m not familiar enough with this product to comment further.

I’ve been looking at this one from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014KBIB3M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref\_=ox_sc_sfl_title_1&smid=A13PRKMVKLJGWH
I’m really very limited on storage space, my junk closet is already piled high and I’m not sure where I’d store a station. However, this looks like it would fit in my tool box. I have no idea how good it is, but the Amazon reviews are encouraging.
If anyone has an experience with this I’d be interested in hearing it.
