there are a couple vendors such as gearbest and lightmalls advertising c8 led lights with xm-l2 driven at 4000 ma. has anyone tried any of these and are they full of it with the 4.0 amp?
They will not be driven at 4 amps! I have found that the KaiDomain C8’s are driven very well at 3 amps and are reliable. If you want a true 4 amps, mod one or contact Richard and ask him to mod a Convoy C8 for you. I would not every suggest sending money to lightmalls.

I have not heard of these. But it is not beyond the realm of possibility. The BLF driver in the A6 could certainly do this. And there have been other drivers capable of high outputs.
The Zeusray zoomies for instance. The early ones go essentially direct drive in High and a good battery will see 4.75 - 5amp+ at the tailcap.
