Kronos X6 XPL-HI questions host/emitter/reflector/

Got the SS/CU set in 3B and I love the output/throw/tint/beam pattern of the X6, but it’s too heavy to be practical for carrying.

So I’d like to build an aluminum version using a FET or FET+1 driver but I can’t find anywhere to get the emitter, so can anyone point me where to find the XPL-HI 3B emitter? (preferably already mounted on a copper MCPCB)

Also what host to use to get the same reflector? (if even possible)

I have a few BLFX6 from the very first X6 GB but I’m pretty sure those aren’t up to par with the new Kronos version.
I was looking at this host: (currently on backorder)
http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_285242.html

I’ve purchased 6 of those hosts from Gearbest and they are pretty nice. I heard that the Kronos reflector threads into the body of the light, I’m not 100% sure on that but the ones from Gearbest do not. They do come with XP-L HI centering rings though. I’ve used them to build singles and triples without issue. I built one with a XP-L HI V2 1A 3D and it has a very nice tint.

This is the only NW XPL-HI pre mounted emitter I can find:

Looks like it would only be around $5-6 more to just get an Astrolux S2 vs building one:

Host: $15
Driver: $13 +shipping
+Emitter: $7 shipping
Total: $35 + shipping
(so probably around $40 to build one)

I can get the Astrolux S2 (US warehouse) for $45.95

I was considering the Alum. set for awhile at the GB price (I think it was $50 or $55) but was thinking of building one because I’d really rather have guppydrv and non lighted tailcap. But it appears the GB code for that set is no longer valid: (“code can only be used up to 300 sets”)

What is XP-L HI V2 1A 3D ? Did you not mean to type “1A” ?

Nope, my phone likes to try to auto correct things that are already correct, lol. It’s XP-L HI V2 3D. You can find them here.

the GB deal was 50 for AL x6 and x5.
that’s a great deal.

i might not even keep any x5 lights.
i ordered the NW AL sets but 2 of the 3 sets have not arrived and there is no tracking #
so i am at great risk of getting skroowed

Yes that WAS a great deal, but it appears the GB code for that set is no longer valid: Here’s what the error message shows when you try it now: “code can only be used up to 300 sets”
